So was I right about Obama or what?
What a presence he has. What a leader. He was in command of that whole large assembly, and one got the feeling that even the other party is aware that they're all going on an amazing ride in these next 8 years. It's like the best and the smartest are finally leading us, the outlook can't be anything but great.
As for Bobby Jindel, what a clown!

I couldn't agree more Holo, because without Obama, the American people and America itself would surely be lost forever. Without a great leader we are like children lost in the dark, lambs awaiting slaughter, a mast without a sail, a ship with no rudder drifting aimlessly till it finally falls off the edge of the earth.
But Obama will not allow that to happen to the land we all together love so much, he will save us, all of us. And of last night, even more of us since now 98% will be receiving tax breaks instead of the previous 95%, let us give thanks and praise. And it is only right that that evil remaining 2% pay a larger share than the more than 95% they already pay to the Federal Govt. because our leader says it's is. And now I finally see the light. Why continue to struggle when Obama will pay my mortgage? Why continue to live in a crappy place when I can get a much nicer place for free? Why, why why? (And where do I sign up???)

You are a bit extreme in your support of Obama. You never even notice when someone actually gives a nod in your favor on some of your other posts. It's as if anyone even has doubt about Barak you blast them out of the water. Are YOU trying to be the "Fairness" Doctrine incarnate? You are the Shaun and Rush for Obama... not quite as articulate in your arguments, but at least with the same FIRE!

This is in fact even BETTER THAN HIS CAMPAIGN PROMISE... the promise to which Shaun/Rush said "mark my words, you'll get no such thing!" Those two foul-mouths swore that "Obama is LYING!" "Politicians will SAY ANYTHING to get elected!" "Those words of his will become HISTORY on his inauguration day"...
Well... It seems that Barak Obama has turned out to be A MAN OF HIS WORD!
Apparently HE IS NOT YOUR RUN-OF-THE-MILL POLITICIAN! In fact, almost every tenet laid down in that speech was A CAMPAIGN PROMISE!!!

Where did you get that bit of information? I think they must have exaggerated the figures. To my knowledge it's more like the TOP 20% PAY 95% of the INCOME TAXES... AND THAT 20% INCLUDES THOSE MAKING $65,000 PER YEAR! So, even 90% of that TOP 20% are either receiving tax relief or will see no increase in their taxes. Nothing's perfect, but that's pretty damned good in my book.

Psyche Muse just because I don't post a thank you when somebody agrees with me doesn't mean I don't notice. Obviously a lot of people believe in Obama the same way I do. It's absolutely idiotic to compare me to Limbaugh and Hannity because of the rare occasion that I believe in a politician.
Sterling it's not surprising that you wouldn't get Obama's brilliance considering you think Palin should be the next president.

I thought Jindal did fine too. He doesn't have that booming voice the Obama has (which is irritating to put it mildly) but there's a sincerity in Bobby Jindal that Obama clearly lacks. Jindal's political insites are more authentic too. He understands that it's the people who will lead this country to prosperity when given te opportunity, not robbing the people most responsible for the nation's prosperity and by doing so harming the poor as history has always proven to be the case.
I think Bobby Jindal could make a great president myself.. With someone like Steve Forbes as VP he would indeed be a great leader.

I thought Barack did excellent, clearly a leader in control and in charge, which is what we so badly needed. I can only continue to hope that all of this amounts to something meaningful in terms of economic turnaround. I wasn't as impressed with Jindal. Not sure if tying Katrina and the ill-fated republican-lead government response to the disaster as a model go forward strategy, I mean, does he realize they were in charge during that debacle? It seemed a little off to me, whereas just about everything Barack had to say seemed sincere and authentic.
I was left feeling quite hopeful, which is a good thing because these last couple of weeks I have found myself becoming more down about things.
