How does everyone here feel about the new information out about the US torture program?
That torture wasn't even used to protect us, but mainly to find/create info to justify the Iraq war?.

That was so predictable. So you're okay that waterboarding was mainly used to try to link Saddam and Bin Laden, not to protect us?

How does everyone here feel about the new information out about the eviction of Adam from the Garden of Eden?
Personally, I think I'm still a little upset that that crazy Eve chick was never brought to justice for stealing the apple, and then pinning the rap on that nice Adam fellow.
No doubt, she was let off on some "technicality" by one of those damn activist liberal judges.
New information has just come to light that Eve had never filled out the necessary paperwork requesting admittance to the International Brotherhood of Fruit Pickers Labor Union.
So not only was she responsible for Man's fall from grace, ...she was apparently anti-labor as well.
I'm considering circulating a petition demanding reparations for Adam's descendants, because I think it's important that we get this out in the open so we can put this whole unfortunate episode behind us and move on to more important issues.
...Like that bastard Pasteur, and his corporate buddies; ripping off poor people by charging them exorbitant amounts of money for some moldy old bread he had repackaged; with the help of a slick marketing campaign and a fancy new brand name.
I say it's about time we informed citizens started demanding mold free bread!

"So far not one person has responded to the topic. What is wrong with you people?"
I think I resent that.
But if you want a Horse's opinion...
I've spent a good deal of time over the years thinking about the things that I see before me. The things that tend to most directly impact my day to day life.
I try to look at these things from every available angle, and gain whatever knowledge, lessons, or wisdom is there for the taking.
But over the years, I've come to realize that there are certain aspects and consequences of my existence are probably not going to benefit me; no matter how intently I examine and study them, and so I've determined there are better ways to spend my time than to stand around reliving, dissecting, and trying to understand them.
It's been my experience for instance that forming a panel or committee to investigate the big steaming pile of horseshit I find residing in my stall, can be somewhat "counter productive".
In most instances, it's quite clear that the steaming pile of horseshit is an undesired presence there in the stall, and it's normally in everyone's best interests to simply remove it from the stall, rather than examining it, demanding accountability from it, or debating the wisdom of releasing photographs of the big steaming pile of horseshit(which could hardly do it justice anyhow).
Of course, we Horse's are a different breed, and we can usually all arrive at a consensus regarding certain universal truths with regards to steaming piles of horseshit:
We don't want them in our stalls.
When found in our stalls, they are best removed immediately.
While minimizing their occurrence is indeed a noble goal, the total elimination of steaming piles of horseshit is perhaps an unreasonable expectation given the nature of horses.
Now there are those within the Horse community who steadfastly believe that these big steaming piles of horseshit are at times desirable, and in fact though admittedly unpleasant, a necessary component in safeguarding and ensuring the continued survival and unimpeded blooming of the nearby rosebushes which we all cherish so much.
While there are others who claim that the beautiful roses will be tainted by the presence of the steaming piles of horseshit that have been mingled with the soil. These horses contend that the rosebush's roots are strong enough that it can not only survive, but can and will continue to produce even more beautiful roses if it is not poisoned by the steaming piles of horsehit being buried in it's soil.
While both of these groups of Horses differ in their views of the best way to deal with the presence of the big steaming piles of horseshit, both can agree that the more air it receives, the more unpleasant the smell becomes, ...and since the unpleasantness of the odor has never been in doubt, the prolonged, and public "airing" of the big steaming pile of horseshit can serve no purpose other than to make more work for the gardener, and raise a stink that's only pleasing to those who hate the roses.

Well I disagree totally with that. In this case it must all be out in the open, so it can never happen again.
Burying your head in the sand as a complete philosophy doesn't cut it, surely you must know that.

And yet, every toilet has a handle on it.
Most have been flushed tens of thousands of times.
And still, ...we can all somehow identify a turd when we see one.
Examine the turd closely enough , and you may eventually find a kernel of corn or two.
It is not however the colonel of corn that has caused the bowel movement. Getting the the big steaming pile of horsehit out in the open just draws more insects for the roses to contend with.

I think I'm going to remove my page here soon if there aren't any intelligent discussions to be had about these issues.

I don't think anyone should be forced to go snowboarding, particularly in Cuba where they have such a shortage of snow, and what they do have would be better used to help fight global warming.
And I'm not sure about the legalities involved, but I think that probably no one should have to go snowboarding anywhere with Dick Cheney, regardless of the state of their colon. ...and definitely not hunting either.
So if Holo, Oprah and the NRA want to call me a colon cleansing sheep; then fine, I'd rather be a a sheep here in America then a constipated, snowboarding, Cuban, Dick Cheney.

I think we should let each person vote on it
What is the best way to serve up punishment for those who torture
1)Throw coconuts at them ?
2)Throw Pineapples ?
3)Throw sugar canes ?
4) Throw surfboards ?
answers anyone, or suggestions

Well see, ...this is exactly why I submitted my "Dick Cheney Dunk Tank" idea to the White House.
It allows for diversity of opinions, and freedom of expression, while still maintaining proper decorum, and re-establishing to the global community that we are indeed still a nation of high moral standard; that believes in the rule of law.
I think that if done tastefully, and in an efficient well organized manner, it would also make for enjoyable television viewing as well.
I'm thinking Dick Clark would be a natural as emcee, and contestants could be drawn from a pool of ticket holders who have paid a small fee to participate in the events.
We could even open it up to foreign dignitaries to participate(time permitting of course), who would have to compete against each other in some sort of elimination round.
The proceeds from the ticket sales could go towards paying off the national debt, and as long as Mr. Cheney didn't pee in the tank, the water used could be recycled to help the environment too.
I'm still waiting to hear back from President Obama though...

Of course there should Holo ... or at least I think it's a good idea sometimes ...
... but even an all out lover of Drama movies is better served by taking in a few Comedy movies once in awhile ....
Politics ... no matter if you love them or hate them ... will always be there ... there is no dire need to address them each and every moment of our lives ...
