The main thing I got out of your article was how shrill and slanted that site has become. Their attempts at humor fail because of this. There's no good nature to it.. When I looked at it a month ago or so I thought it had some value but could not find much today. There's no pretense of even-handedness or even civility.
MSNBC apparently doesn't realize that the only ones paying attention are the already converted. That's why the ratings are so low; it's not a large group. No one goes there except people clinging to beliefs such as yours. They go there because they can't bear to hear the truth about what is, and what is coming - that is, that the high tide of leftism came one year ago.
With a cataclysmic defeat for Democrats in the congressional elections in 2010 now inevitable, Obama's lame duck status will be realized in retrospect to have started right now - and that is sooner than any President in recent memory.

Huffington Post is the most viewed political website by far. You must be skimming because I often see articles there which cover both sides of the spectrum, and they are quite critical of Obama at times.
MSNBC is the second rated cable news network, not too bad considering the network beating it has numerous beautiful woman commentators and appeals to a lot of racists and the conservative talk radio crowd that doesn't generally even watch cable news but like to get stirred up by Beck and Hannity's brand of hate.

Obama isn't a lame duck though. His approval rating remains quite high, and he's been given a lot of political capital to expend.
What worries people most is spend and tax ... and congress has not shown great restraint in that regard.
One cannot forget how hard the Republican party was spanked by voters during the time that the do-nothing-but-line-their-own-pockets party ruled all the halls.
Obama was elected on a promise of change.
To his credit, his calm demeanor and steady hand have prevented full fledged panic. Yet, unless true change comes ... patience will wane.
The Republicans have taken a stance of stubborn resistance against ... well, anything any Democrat think is right. This polarized stance was old 8 years ago, and if the Republicans continue their unwillingness to discuss ... it will be to party peril.
NOT TO SAY that Democrats don't have their own party problems. The house bill on health care is a fucking piece of fluff. Viewed in the right light, it's almost like insurance companies wrote the legislation:
- They feign they are giving up SO MUCH by having to cover the sick w/o limit and w/o underwriting (no one can be dismissed or denied because of sickness), but I'm 25 years in insurance ... and guess what? W/O price controls, they'll just raise prices to accommodate ... so they don't give a fuck about having to do this.
- Meanwhile back at what has them drooling: Most people who don't buy insurance don't buy insurance because they're young and healthy. Some can't afford it, but the LARGE part of this market simply feels they don't need it and don't feel like affording it. THESE PEOPLE are going to be forced to buy it ... resulting in millions of new forced insureds ... healthy and extremely profitable. Get it yet?
- The House closed the donut hole in prescription drugs. Big Whoop. They would have had to do this anyways eventually ... only because it was unfair. Meanwhile, they also leave HUGE incentives in place for Medigap coverage. Another windfall for insurance companies.
Think Democrats or Republicans are different? Nah ... it's just which one is in power collecting the most money for the moment both are focused on.
They don't care about people. They're there to line their own pockets.
Government is the second concern.

Last I saw it was under 50%, not really what I'd call high.
But, I think I may agree that it's turning into a one-party system, not much difference between the 2 supposed parties.

Yeah ... it's been hovering a little above and a little below dependent on recent news. It's not sterling, but times being what they are ... not surprising either.

Kevin, Keep it up man.
Your critics are the same people that voted-in that Chimp G.W.. shouting "if you don't support the duly elected president you are un-american".
The same wingnut religious types that had their televangelest muck-rackers shouting "
'Ga-wa-dah" put GWB in office. If 'Ga-wa-dah' didn't want GWB to be president he wouldn't have put him in office, can I get an AMEN! - therefore if you don't believe in president-a-Boo-uussh - you don't believe in 'Ga-wa-dah'!!"
-THAT WAS A QUOTE BTW -
So did 'Ga-wa-dah not also put President Obama in office?
Oh that's right 'Ga-wa-dah is for white people only. forgot, sorry.
These are the same unfortunate folks that sit in front of their TV's wringing their hands as the oligarchies mind eraser known as FOX preys on their traditions, good nature and naiveté toward the goal of whipping them up into a noisemaking machine. And there is nothing we can do about it. You can't fix this. They will believe any outlandish dribble that helps rationalize their fear and hatred. And facts don't phase them. Sad actually.
You might also note that these are the same folks that don't give Clinton any credit for the surplus, or hold 'ole G-dubyee responsible in anyway for bankrupting the company, and getting us into two wars.
OR!, NOW they say they really didn't like Bush - even though they voted for him twice.
My suggestion to THOSE folks is to take stock in the sources of information they used to gather the opinion that voting for George JR. was good idea in the first place.
..are you still getting your misinformation from the same source? - well that would be stupid of course, and actually proves my point.
Fun Fact! - the 100 billion dollars we will spend in Afghanistan is the same we would spend on heathcare!
Sooo where is the outrage from the "Fiscal Conservatives" over the war? -
Rhetorical question obviously - as long as the money is going to Haliburton and protecting Corporate profits then it is worthy. When it is to avoid seeing those beggar buckets at the convenience store....
"Please help Jane Doe, she got cancer and doesn't have any money, she is a single mom and needs help, she has three kids, etc..."
AND the REALLY sad part?...out here in the south? If Jane Doe were lucky enough to not die, she would probably be right back on the line screaming the talking points against this commie, fascist, liberal, socialist guvment attempt to take away the healthcare she doesn't even have and raise the taxes she doesn't even have to pay.
It's like watching a hamster wheel itself to death.

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!
~Pete Townsend, 1969
