Imagine if we had all the money we wasted on 2 useless wars and used it on health care
We wouldn't have 44,000 people dying every year from not being insured.

Let's see now, which is a better use of funds, chasing weapons of mass destruction that never existed (at the cost of American lives), or providing medical attention to our own people who can't afford it?

Of course one thing has to do with the other. If the money wasn't wasted, it could've been put to important use. Now stop evading and face the truth, you buffoon.

You really are beyond stupid if you don't think money used for one thing could be used for something else instead. Did you drop out of school in 2nd grade, imbecile?

Dear Holo,
I agree with you 100%, I personally have been bankrupted by crushing medical expenses, and pay my monthly premium to Regence healthcare! Medical insurance is a total joke (unless you are lucky, or rich enough to afford one of the "Cadillac" plans). Certainly, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Great Britian, Canada...etc. etc, can't ALL be buffoons.
Healthy people (and people with great insurance) don't want to talk about single payer healthcare! "Hell, I don't want to pay for all those assholes" seems to be their mantra. But yet they're more than happy to sacrifice the lives of those less fortunate in (2) futile wars against an ideal that has fomented hatred for so called infidels, that can never be won overseas. National security is a real concern, and money should be spent to avoid another 9-11, but Iraq? come on! everyone with half a brain knows it's a waste of time.
Al Qaeda is in Pakistan, but we will never invade a country with nukes, so what's the point? Spend the money on the working poor here, and security within our borders, and quit being the world police...That's my take.

The government can't even get the H1N1 virus innoculations right. People are dying from that too! They've promised more than there is to go around and when asked why........... "Well, just feel it's comforting to know You're not the only one in need"................................................WTF???????
When Obummer first got into office, why didn't he give back all of those trillions of dollars Bush was sitting on to THE PEOPLE rather than the large conglomerate corporations that the Dems dispise anyways. Isn't that the way of the Dems? Seems to me that would have saved 2-3 years of ecconomic termoil.
No.... it's because if "we the sheeple" are always in dire need, we stay at the mercy of the ever enlarging government that tells us when we can wipe our asses!!

The government serves the people, works for the people, Larree, and the majority want National Health Care. That's part of the reason Obama got elected. As for just being down on anything the government does, I'm sure you'll be accepting your medicare and social security when the time comes.

What this thread has meant to me is health is personal, and profit doesn't belong in that equation.
I'm a capitalist and have benefited, but I've learned that there are certain places profit doesn't belong.
It's evolution for the betterment of all, not clinging to any ideology any venture tries to commit the populace to through misinformation.

Do you want to be real or dismissed as a predictable caricature?
Act accordingly. How you wind up is your fault. I'm just saying.
Fuck me. Right?

Larree is now just another weak symbol of right wing foolishness. He's like the do-nothing Republicans who ran out of ammo on this subject a year ago. Nothing left to say, he's just an embarrassment, spouting out swearwords while others who care about the country and have common sense pursue doing the right thing.

I'm real and so are these words I'm typing.
"Money for war is there no matter what else the government spends money on"
Larree is actually so dumb he doesn't understand that the same money used to fight a war we got into under false pretenses could be used for other purposes. He seems to think money spent on sending troops wouldn't work for health care, like there is such thing as a dollar bill that says on it "for war only" :>) It's interesting though that he's always complaining about Obama raising taxes but he thinks war money appears out of thin air.

Yes, Larree, if we hadn't spent the money in Iraq, it could've been spent on health care. This is a simple concept. Are you actually getting more stupid as time goes on, here?

Ok, so...the State should defend its borders and that's it? Or what?
The Feds should defend the Federal borders and the States should defend the States borders, and both should defend individual rights and that's it? Have I got that right?

That's not the only question. You made some statements about the limited nature of Federal (and State) governments that you desire, but you refuse to clarify you statements when questioned on the ramifications. So, you're running for office? If not, why not answer the posed questions that seek to clarify what you're saying?

How about highways? Should the Feds have no part in building highways? In Arkansas, there would be no major highways without Federal incentives, that's just a fact. Should the Feds just stay out of it and let backwaters be backwaters if they so choose? How about Medicare? Should the Feds let people die if the States choose to not give old folks medical care? How about Food Stamps? Should the Feds let people starve if their State won't help them?

Eh, I know you know better than that, for the sake of people reading.
There are things that the Federal government MUST do. Ideally, everything they do provides for the welfare of the citizens. If that's subverted, it's YOURS to help straighten it out and make it work. The government is YOU and ME and everyone else. If it's not working correctly, it's OURS to make it work right.

No, Larree, we're fucked right now. The insurance companies are out of control. I can't believe that your rationale for your idiotic opinions is that you don't like to go to doctors anyway. I believe if you had a loved one who couldn't afford to get treated you'd change your tune real fast.

Why does it cost $2,000.00 for an M.R.I. in the U.S., but in Japan you can get one for $160.00? I'll tell you why, because of overpriced medical care controlled by the insurance companies.
The Insurance companies have us ALL by the short hairs. The only ones benefiting by a half assed healthcare reform bill are the insurance companies (and their cronies). Without some kind of universal single payer healthcare...we're ALL fucked! Why can all the other wealthy nations on The Earth afford to PROVIDE state of the art, virtually free healthcare, but we can't?
Don't worry, if something doesn't change soon, we'll all be educated about the NEED for our government to at least attempt (however inept they may be) to provide healthcare for all, rich or poor.
Perhaps it's true...A Novel H1N1 may be a bio-engineered "thinning of the herd" After all, dead people don't complain, or need healthcare.
