I had a successful evening busking!
This was my second time street performing and my first time I dared to go do it alone.
I went out on Newbury St. tonight...a ritzy shopping st. in Boston and set up my amp and mic by the CVS and played for 3 hrs...mostly played Honey, Sitting on Top of the World, and Oh Why Must They Die; also did The Last Time & White Rabbit... I got almost $40 from folks passing by, but these men in the restaurant across the street offered me $100 to move closer to them to play for them while they had dinner so I did...they paid me $100 and then another $50 and he took some CDs....so I came home tonight with about $190 from playing in the street....WOW....this is the 2nd time I played in the street...now...I have to think of some songs that I can learn to add to what I do for this kind of situation...what are some good songs to have to play for a long gig....geez....I am so glad I decided to lay outdoors and not do the subway!! But I realize I must learn more songs and get them memorized!! ..but gotta think of some songs that would be really good for my voice. This is hard to believe!!!

Woh..Thats brilliant Beth,what a succesful night!
Thats £85 from 3 hours work..excellent.
You're obviously really good to get that kinda interest and money.
-well i can hear that from your page lol
I always pictured it being almost impossible to make money from street music in the States as the competition would be just too fierce..
White Rabbit is a really interesting one to cover just on acoustic.A brave choice

Well done! I think that beats just about of my busks over the years, the best I got was a 50 note once.

Wow, great! A friend of mine and I did the Boston subways a couple of times in the late 70's when I was at Berklee, and those are some of the best memories I have.

Very excellent, Beth!!!
And, I gotta ask: does Boston require street performers to have a permit or can you just go on out there and play your heart out any old time?

Hi Beth
Pretty good man! I saw your post about this on the Planet but I don't post there anymore. I'll have to check my station and see if I have any of your songs on my play list.
Watch yourself out there, own mace? Get some.
