You're in Beantown??? Cool.
I was once the mayor of Boston, ya know ... ;-D
My whole family, seriously, is from there ... I know because I've got a copy of the 1890's census ... just after their crossing.
I've a funny story about my name and Boston ... Well before my daughter manned the front desk at the Four Seasons in Dublin, I had won some vacation luxuries through my work situation.
One of those included a stay at the Four Seasons in Boston. Holly and I arrived a day late to the meeting, due to family circumstance, after the rest of the business ensemble had already gotten there.
We walked up to the front desk, crumbs still on my sweatshirt from the hastily consumed Burger King meal I'd wolfed down on the hurried trip. We felt like a couple country hayseed's in the BIG CITY.
So I get up to the front desk, and the clerk asks me my name. I answered. She replied, "Would you like your regular room, Mr. White?"
Being cluelessly savvy, having NEVER stayed there previously, I answered "OF COURSE!!!" The bellhop led us to our room. It was a king bed in a rather small room. BUT there was an open door that led to a PALACE SUITE.
The suite had a top of the line sound system, a big screen TV, two exotic marbled bathrooms ... a wet bar ... a dining room w/ a crystal chandelier that spanned at least 15 feet. There was floor to ceiling windows that overlooked Boston Commons.
The room had more square footage than my house at the time. It was a room for royalty.
My wife freaked. She slammed the door. I said, "WTF???" Cheekily, I called the front desk and told them that we'd accidentally closed the door, and wondered out loud whether that room was actually meant to be included.
The desk clerk disappeared for a moment, returned, and sadly informed me that no ... the room wasn't part of our regular rate ... ... but since they weren't using it that evening, I could have it for 50 extra dollars.
I invited ALL my business associates to my room that night. They were all VERY jealous.
:^D

Beth -GREAT tributes to your street music! Obviously WELL Received. I'm meeting MORE & more artists who do what you do....
Little known fact, both E-NOX (remember the radical political posts?) and Tommy Sandler do Street performances and do it WELL! Haven't seen them, but have heard good things from the Twin-cities crew.
ROCK ON, Beth! -luv, pHLeGmie

The guy looks like he's about to give you his soda!
I've been in that station no less than 100 times over the last several years.
I'll be in town again soon too. We're seeing the Decemberists Nov 6th at the Orpheum. It's Hol's b-day and she's a huge fan. We're doing an overnight family thing ... as Bry is tagging along too.

Very kool!
Check the subway cars to see if they were made by "Bombardier" (or "Canada Car" if they're older) in my hometown of Thunder Bay, Ontario. There should be a name plate somewhere, maybe as you step thru the door.
"Braintree"???? there is an East Braintree just west of Winnipeg.
Great pix. The guy with the coffee is cool -- that half-shirt-in-half shirt-out thing was our chosen style in high school in the sixties

Oh wow girl those shots bring back such fond memories of playing Government Center Station where the green line meets the blue. . . yeah it was in '88 and man did we have some fun back then. . . excellent memories, thanks girl, great pics. . .
. . . . I actually wrote a song about the experience it was so cool there, Bostonians really do support their local artists in a way I've only seen matched in Germany. I hope to post it soon. . .
Peace,
Gibby
