question on video editing
I have a video someone took and it is 79 gigabytes!! It is an AVI file. I did get it up on youtube but it took a long long time...it is taking up almost half my hard drive and I cannot burn it to a DVD!! Can anyone suggest free software to convert and resize video....and I am also looking for free software to edit the video...maybe I can add text or lighten or darken the picture...or cut...I have a video camera that takes mpegs and I might want to convert those to AVI at some point. There is an mpeg to AVI software out there that I hear does not work....I am a photographer and am familiar with jpegs and editing of photos but am very very confused about video. Can anyone tell me where to get some information on this? I did try googling...but so far...still very confused. Thanks!!
