Late one night
Late one night I was half asleep with the TV on when a documentary came on about a Syrian hospital emergency department.
The Doctors were having incredible difficulties coping with casualties using totally inadequate equipment, when suddenly score of badly burned children started arrive following the firebombing of a nearby school.
I just had to write this song. I am afraid it is not a feel good song, but I was just compelled to do it:
This Mountain Is Too Steep

Vincenzo,
Oh man, what a devastating thing to witness. I think your song so perfectly describes an astoundingly horrific situation. The loss of any life is traumatic. But when children are involved it is so hard to understand. The sheer brutality of man against innocent children is hard to stomach. If there was such a thing as a song of the week, this would be my choice. My sincere thanks to you for writing and sharing this song with us. I have seen a lot of death and destruction in my time. You would think that by now I would be use to it. But thank God that I am not use to it. I am just as appalled today as I was many years ago in Vietnam. Whether it be Napalm or firebombing, I can't help but wonder if it will ever end. This thirst for blood by evil men all over the world leaves me sullen and ashamed. Ashamed to be a part of the human race.
Much Respect To You,
Stoneman

Hi Stoneman,
Thank you so much for listening and for your kind words.
Like you, I am not sure if humans will ever learn, however, don't ever be ashamed of being human. Yes there is evil in the world, but I believe that most of humanity is good.
Ciao,
Vincenzo
