In Ecuador
Arrived in Ecuador this morning. Caught the shuttle bus from the ship to town and hee I am in my first cyber cafe in South America. The town we are in is Guayaquil. Looks like an interesting place with appx 2,400,000 people. We are going to have a look at the artisan markets shortly.
We were very fortunate to have Michel Bell (ex The 5th Dimension) perfom in the ships lounge two nights ago. He is a fantastic performer and the ship´s orchestra were amazing too.
They have a Yamaha electric piano on the ship which passengers can use when available, so I am trying to write some instrumentals while I am on board.
Ciao for now,
Vincenzo

Vincenzo I've been to Ecuador 5 times....last summer I was there...flew into Guayquil...there is an interesting iguana park downtown...the waterfront is pretty there...but Guayaquil is big and hot...and the hotels are expensive and not great there...the beaches on the coast like Montanita and Canoa are fabulous...well being on a ship you don't get to see anything in depth there...some of the pictures on my IAC site are pics I took in Ecuador...the three little children at their house I took in Canoa Ecuador..a little beach town...they are the grandchildren of my friend Celeste who I met in 2002 when I was there....the highlands have a totally different culture with different indigenous costumes...along the beach folks are different still, and Guayquil is totally different and not like any other city or place in Ecuador either!
