Australia the movie...
I finally made it to see the movie Australia last night, before it will be off the box office.
It's funny because a number of people, mostly from the States and Canada, during our last trip, commented on how they loved the movie, although a bit long. So we had to see it for ourselves and on a big screen!!
The movie did not get very good reviews, which I think is a shame. We absolutely enjoyed it, it was a beautifully photographed movie which kept our attention all the way through the end. The only negative comment is that I felt that the villain, Mr Fletcher was a bit overdone towards the end and you expected the crowd to go BOOOHH!! everytime he appeared!!
A great movie in my humble opinion...

Hello Vincenzo,
I wanted to respond to this the other day, however I hadn't seen the movie yet. When I saw the trailer a while ago, it was one of those movies that I immediately thought 'I have to see that movie'. I had made plans to see it while it was playing at the theater... but unfortunately was never able to. Finally tho... due to the grace of the dvd gods I was able to see it.
I wasn't disappointed. It was, I thought, a great movie, with so many facets.... it was such a difficult dramatic, action piece in so many ways... yet was funny, romantic and heart warming... and showed how love and hate co-exist in this world... and how it either makes us better or worse as humans. I wish I had been able to have seen it at the theater... the photography looked wonderful and am only able to imagine how beautiful some of those shots would have been on a much larger screen. I thought the cast was an excellent choice... really great on screen chemistry among so many of the actors... the young boy that played in it as well, was a glowing, shining star. I just thought it was a really well done piece of movie making.
