Earth Wind & Fire + Chicago
I went to the Earth Wind & Fire + Chicago concert last night in New York. What a fantastic night. For the grand finale both bands played together, so we had three drummers plus other percussions at the one time. Amazing!! I wish you were there!!
Ciao,
Vincenzo

Hey Vincenzo, what brings you to NY?
If you're trying to follow the summer, it's probably warmer in the dead of Australia's winter than here.
Wish you had better weather for your visit.

Earth Wind and Fire would have been cool.
I saw Chicago with The Doobie Brothers last year. They did the same thing by playing together towards the end. Chicago played all thier old stuff! I had a good time. It was billed as Chicago being the headliner, but one of the Doobie Brothers guitarists had a family matter (they're from this area), so they switched places that night. It didn't matter cause the concert was really good.
You know that all of those "more experienced" bands are probably going to croak on-stage when they go, because they just love what they do too much.

Hi Glen & D,
I am in New York to visit my older daughter who turns 40 on July 4th. Tomorrow we go on a ship for just 5 days and then back here in N.Y. until the 8th and then Texas!
With the concert it was amazing how much energy the original members of the bands still have. Espacially the base player of EW&F and the Trombone of Chicago (I assume he is original...he looks it!!) They just loved what they were doing. My only negative comment would be that with Chicago the bass and drum were a bit overwhelming, drowning everything else at times. The vocals and brass sections were great. EW&F were just terrific, especially the lead singer. Amazing range and staying power!!
Ciao for now,
Vincenzo
