The one song that hit your heart, mind, body and soul
Folks - I'm interested in building a station dedicated to the one song that touched you the most strongly on IAC. And, yes, it could be one of your own (my song Noodle gets me every time, for example).
So, either in response to this blog, or in message to me - what ONE song on IAC has hit your heart, mind, body and soul square on target?

Hiya, Wow that is going to be so very difficult...sometimes it's a voice, sometimes a lyric or just a really good chord change that stirs something inside ...but then it can be an ordinary song with an awful production but you just feel the love and spirit from the artist shining through. I think I'll duck out of this and wait to see what comes up on your Station ! - V

I actually have two to pick from. (1) For You- about my daughter that had everything and gave it up for drugs. (she is now recovering nicely) (2) Open Arms and Promises- a 25th year anniversary gift. (she crys when I sing it)

Eaglehead's East to the Dawn is quite stirring for me.

I've never good at this kind of thing.
The songs on my SoulRetrieval stations are there because they grabbed my heart and soul in a big way. Also, anyone of those songs on the "Stairway To Heaven" station are heart grabbers. I'm not able to pick one song. deb

The two songs of my daughter's that really grab my heart are 'Pain Killer' a song about the mental pain that she endured and 'Corkscrew', a song about how she was trying her hardest to free herself from the mental pain she experienced. Both of these songs come directly from her heart and soul. They are very sad lyrics but the music she sings them to make them sound like happy funky songs that you like listening to. Out of sadness comes art.

I'll second "Child of War" and 'East to the Dawn'
both favourites of mine!
Our song "the Nobody" still grabs me-----it was only a 4 track recording, but it came out better than we expected----then we had it remastered here, and it took off 6,700 plays in one month------

thanks Father Time. "Swingset Chain" is beautiful. It's got an easy delivery. Like Suzanne Vega. I'll add to the list, pretty much anything by Alphastates. Actually, a lot of Irish artists really get to me. Something soulful comes from that place. Maybe it's all the rain they get. Or the uneasy relationship with England that makes them restless.
