7 Worlds Collide
Folks - there is a GREAT record just come out, in support of the charity OXFAM, called 'The Sun Came Out' by a collaborative group called 7 Worlds Collide. Ho-hum, another charity record... Except, this isn't 'That's what friends are for', it's:

Neil Finn (up there for finest songwriter of the last 20 years)
Johnny Marr (up there for finest band member of the last 20 years)
4/6 members of Wilco (up there for finest alternative band on the last 20 years)
KT Tunstall (up there for finest female of the last 10 years)
2/5 Radiohead (up there for the finest rip it up and start again band of the last 15 years)
And the list goes on...

Incredibly, this is a record (and I would suggest buying the double CD/Download) with premier grade talent, recorded in 3 weeks', and yet sounding like a common artistic vision.

So, do some good for OXFAM - and get some FANTASTIC music in the deal - seems like a win-win to me.

Vince
(who has had this record on non-stop for the past couple of weeks)

With finesse, quiet passion and some of the BEST music in the world. Already being an acolyte of the Finns, the real find from this record is Don McGlashan of The Mutton Birds, another kiwi I'm definitely going to be following up on!

Just enjoying his "I Will Not Let You Down". Different to the Mutton Birds earlier stuff - I'm liking his mellower/maturer self. There's a vid of "Andy" with Neil Finn that I've yet to watch. If it's cool, I'll post it here.
