Calling All Experts!
Hi Everyone!
There is a "thing" I have been struggling with and it has to do with the way my CD's tracks are displayed when played in any media player.
I would like to have the song title, etc displayed when the CD is played.....
As it is now, the only information that is being displayed is Track 1, etc.
I have been burning my projects in Magix Goya Burner and that software is obviously not gonna cut it for what I want to do.......I think.
Is there anyone here who can point me in the right direction? Does anyone know of an "inexpensive" software that will allow me to add the Track Title, Album Name, Artist, etc to the music CD when I burn them?
I came here first.......Because I am pretty sure someone here has faced the same problem.
Thanks Everyone!
Bill

Most encoders have that. You can also right click on the name of the file in your harddrive and rename your file which will often get you most of the way to where you're going.
Here's a link to an encoder which is not only the best free encoder out there but it also has all options as far as naming and adding info to songs encoded individually or in bulk. I can totally vouch for version 1.51, have used it for years.

Ft might have given you the answer you need... but if you are talking about your original CD, with your original songs on it... that could be an entirely different matter.
If you get a "proper" CD and play it in your computer, and if your computer is on-line, most players will go to one of the many CD Databases on-line and grab the album info from that database to display in your player. That happens because properly manufactured CD's include a special code, called an ISRC code, embedded and unique for every track on every CD. This ISRC code is usually assigned to your song and embedded with it at the CD mastering stage of manufacture.
If your CD is professionally manufactured, then all you have to do is submit your ISRC codes, song titles and album and artist info to these on-line CD databases - and then ANYONE anywhere who puts your album into their computer, provided it is on-line, will see your album artwork, title, song titles etc.

oh sorry, I didn't see that you were talking about hard CDs, so skip my answer. (I am at work at same time as blogging so I get distracted.

"called an ISRC code, embedded and unique for every track on every CD. This ISRC code is usually assigned to your song and embedded with it at the CD mastering stage of manufacture."
Thanks Satch! That was just the information I was looking for! I didn't have a clue what it was called, but with your help I located the website that issues the codes.
There is a document on the website in MS Word and/or PDF that you can download to register (which I have already done). Registration is free and they apparently will email you your "Registrant Code".
From what I can gather, you create your own code when mastering the CD....
Now if I could remember html coding from my verrrry early days of building websites I would embed the link below HERE....LOL

Thank You So Very Much!
And My Thanks to Father Time as well........

A great program for burning your own CD's with all the track and album information is Sony CD Architect. I use that for creating professional red book CD masters for my clients.
