Bricks and Mortar (ft Anjuli of crack*a*jack*crow)
I have uploaded a new song called "Bricks and Mortar". This is a very unique song of lyrics written by DirgeK for some music sent to her by an Australian musician combined with a tribute from Alison who was DirgeK's best friend for many years. These words were combined together very cleverly by Anjuli who sings the words and melody on this amazing creation which has a zappa feel to it.
Many kudos to Anjuli for taking on such a difficult task and achieving this great masterpiece which immortalises three beautiful talented girls in a song for all eternity. Thankyou so much, Anjuli for a great job.

WOW! Outstanding job... tough to work lyrics out like that... SUPER creative work Anjuli.
Dirge was obviously channeling some heavy vibes... certain talent, sensitivity and torment working through the soul.
Great work! added it to The Sound Cafe.

Wild, Weird & freaky. Nice work DirgeK and Anjli! This song REALLY grows on you & the ENDING is tight as hell. So, a REAL nice bit of extrapolation from what DirgeK and her friends had done prior, Anjuli. That's a TRUE collaboration.
Keep that GREAT work by your daughter comin', Jill.
Welcome, once again to PHLEGM PHAVORITES !!!

How many jugglers does it take to change a light bulb?...
One .... but it takes at least three light bulbs!
I gotta take this on the road...
Thanks for the opportunity and the kind words DKM... it means allot and will seep into my thick head at an undisclosed hour later on this week some time while probably watching an old Lassie rerun, which gets me every time xoxoxo
Thanks for the support every one, and Strawberry... you can run but one day the whipping cream is going to catch you and when it does, there will be no mercy in your quick and rather tasty demise.

I listened DK's mom - I think these lyrics are very clever but I agree the vox sound way over effected, on second thought maybe they are just right for the title!

Thankyou all for the appreciation of these four artists creation.
Dirge wrote a lot of poems, not sure if she intended for them to become songs.
If anyone would like to attempt a musical interpretation of any of them, here is the link.

All humor aside...
I played a very small part in the making of B&M. It was challenging to record vocals and bed them into a stereo mix and I'm sure a number of folks on this site could have done a greater justice to the tune but I feel fortunate that DK's mum asked me to give it a go... so I'm proud of the work we did together as it was a true merry-go-round collaboration... including DK's mum as it is because of her we are all fortunate enough to have access to Dirgek's brilliant work. I am a huge fan of Dirgek and always will be. Sincerest love and warmest wishes to you DK mum :)

Thankyou to all who have listened to this song - 349 plays in 4 days is amazing ! Thankyou again to Anjuli for bringing DirgeK's words to life and allowing her voice to be heard. I think we can all have a good long think about the state of our world and how it can affect the thoughts of our youth after listening to this song.
This is an exert from an on line diary which she entitled 'The Sorrows of Young Anomie" written by DirgeK at Christmas time with her thoughts on Western civilisation. Thought you might be interested to read it
"I know we are presently in the auspices of the season of Goodwill, a time to be thankful for what we have and charitable to those more unfortunate than ourselves, but such Weltanschauung is inherently lost on me. I don't even know who I am, my mind is encountering a tectonic rupture on a par with the forming of the Great Rift Valley. I honestly would not wish my existence on any living soul, irrespective of putative penury, cholera, gonorrhea or oppression. At least street kids rifling through dumpsters for survival get some fresh air once in a while! And it would be anathema for me to bestow the facile trappings of Western culture upon the supposed unwashed, when such garniture has failed on every conceivable level to placate me. I have read reports that indicate much better mental health amongst developing nations in stark contrast with Western civilisation and its incumbent stress levels, fractious family ties and ipso facto; soaring rates of depression. There seems to be something about striving for survival on the very fringe of existence which fosters a bolstered limbic system. Who am I to offset such a finely-tuned homeostasis with outward 'goodwill'? ;)" DirgeK
Weltanschauung [velt-an-show-uung], the German term for a ‘world-view’, that is, either the ‘philosophy of life’ adopted by a particular person or the more general outlook shared by people in a given period.
I had to look this up as usually do when confronted by DK's writings, I often learn a lot !

wow! you've got to share more of her writings. What an intellectual young one she was!
Way ahead of her time in wisdom and knowledge, for a woman writing in her late teens....
Again, DirgeK was truly a genius.

Actually that's not strictly true, there re at least five songs featuring Anjuli on Paul Groovers page.
It's a shame she left but I can quite understand her leaving / taking a break. It strangely paralells a situation with a 'real life' friend and a 'real life' venue. I'm saying no more on that though.

---------this is too sad !!
imaginative folks like Anjuli and Brendon don't come along too often, is it a sad reflection on our lack of sensitivity on the pipeline?
Funny,-- i just had this neat message from A----now gone in a cloud of ?????
