Yes indeedy -- the lighter, less thickly viscuous side o' phlegm...
Jill, you are SO sweet to do this. Thanks for the happy pick-me-up, in the midst of so much tougher sides o' life lately!
Princezzz says HI again, and that she'll have DRAFT No. 1 of said cover for the DirgeK project ready for ya sometime this coming week.... I told her to just wait until it's a FINAL Draft of a cover she can "stand behind" as it were.
Either way, she's doin' some great stuff, and whether you see it by the end of this week, or LATER for a more finished project, I'm pretty confident you'll dig it!
Thanks again for this sweet idea of yours, I think I'll play your new station a few times just to annoy Princezzz..... heh. -pHLeGm

"why does princezzz prefer your harder side??"
Hyukety yuk -hardee har --my "harder" side....tee hee.... c'mon, you can guess why a wife would prefer it hard? !!!
but seriously.
She's a pretty hard woman, and grew up as a punk-rock queen with the FIRST generation of PUNK music, back in the day, so that's probably the main reason.
She's got a soft side too though.... from Tom Jones to Andrew Gold.... she'll suprise ya. She's not ALL about The Ramones & The Sex Pistols, ya know.
Thanks again Jill fer cheerin' me up.
High-HO, High-ho it's OFF to the new day job I go

Hope it wasn't too bad and didn't give you those 'Working Man Blues' again
Just one thing missing from my station and that is a 'Psychic Friend'. It is still on PureVolume, thought you said you took it off ?

Actually, I think it's gonna be OK, as I'm sure you guessed. They said I have a GREAT phone voice, and will do just fine.
Suprising that an entertainer/Singer would give good voice, eh?
Harrdeee harrrr... DOH! LOADS more work to come, but at least for the rest of TODAY, we were let off after only 5 hours of work due to MLK JR Day in the USA. So --- HERE I AM, bloggin' it up, and doin' MORE practice for the upcomin' LIVE shows this month.
AND -- I get to play Basketball with the older boyz, and hang out some with the whole FAMILY now....urrrrr... until 5:30am hits and the workin' man blues come back full force.....
Thanks again Jill, for helpin' me get over that rough spot.... Hopefully I'll be back to my regular, more cheerful self.
Cheers! -Love, pHLeGm

Enox how can it be talking behind my back if you post it in this blog?
you really are a witty, cool dude. Thanks for backing up Princezzz & my love for our new found friends, Jill & Tony.
Keep doin' your thang Enox, and do me a flavor Drop me a confirmation NOTE or call, in the next week about playin' ARTFEST #33 with us and others...
We'd LOVE to have you play, but don't wanna put you on the bill/flyer unless it's a fer-sure thang.
ROCK on Enox, Jill & Tony!
p.s. - I know this sounds simply like whinin' and it probably is BUT havin' to start at the BOTTOM again in a new positionwell, I'm stugglin' HARDCORE with this new day job & reduced hours for IAC & music, but STILL managin' to fit in as much as possible. BILLS are piling up, and so is the STRESS so messages like yours & Jill's help make it all more bearable. But I'm WAY behind on listening to Artists, that I've promised to, and on all kinds of website & music distribution updates I gotta do.... It's a miracle any of us struggling Artist types get even a LITTLE bit of our music out there, eh?

Rob, you are always welcome at our family parties !
Hi to Tommy/Enox - is that the same person ? Good to meet a friend of Phlegm's, wonder how you know each other do you live nearby ?
Tommy I read that you are not easily moved, take a listen to DirgeK's music and see if she can move you.
Hang on in there Phlegm, 1.2 million unemployed in UK, highest unemployment figures since 1997. I replied to your e mail, don't know if you've had time to read it yet. PG's City Blues is doing well, hope it makes No 1.

Jill -- THANKS fer stoppin' into the silly-little thread you started! I can answer that one..... When Enox & I were bloggin' back & forth.... when he made all that NOIZE about lettin' Freedom RING (and got into a little bit of trouble on IAC, DOH!) -- he decided to give me a RING by phone! long story short -- we're becoming closer friends because of additional contact beyond the internet --- Though I'm in Tucson, he's up in IDAHO somewhere right now, I believe, with Tommy Saddler & friends.
ANYHOO...ON TO Silverdoods (as Larree calls 'em)
Ahh... SILVERwood --my lovely Australian Musical friends... If you give that station a listen, you'll see that it truly IS my taste! Your new vocal duet tune & many like it are peppered throughout the PHLEGM PHAVORITES IAC station !!!!
I just like GOOD original Music, Punk/metal/hard alternative aren'tt the ONLY styles out there, I mean --consider their roots, ya know?!
ROCK ON Silverwood & Jill (DirgeK's Mum) -- Time to head back to the poopy day job, you heard me whinin' about in these here blogs.....DOH!
Cheers my Australian & UK mates!

Wow. That's funny that you say that! I listen to her music ALL the TIME! But I have found a few moments here and there where it's just too filled with emotion for me to do so, and chose to listen to something harder.
I know it's strange -- but Jill can attest to this, I REALLY feel a connection to DirgeK.... and when I first met Jill online, I thought I was interacting with Nikola herself.
You know this shivers you get when something spiritual or passionate or heavily emotional happens in your life? I get those all the time for DirgeK, and her spirit HONESTLY seems to be THRIVING through IAC at times.
It's rare for me to cry, but I have at times while listenin' to her tunes...
Pretty cool to hear you've had some similar experiences.
Jill, please don't be saddened or offended by this crazy talk. I really do believe her spirit is out there touching people.... WHY would we have MET you?
You're the only IAC persona, who didn't join the site from Tucson at my behest, who I've actually met & befriended in person.
It all just seems so ethereal.
Someday, when we're both in the mood for it, you should consider letting me do those Lyrics of hers that are not currently in song.
What would interest me even more is doing a recording of a DUET with her. I sing to her music OFTEN around my house when I'm bumpin' DirgeK.
Tommy, Jill --- thanks for making this strange private, yet public BLOG thrive.
My heart is filled with sadness at your loss Jill, and GREAT LOVE for the spirit of your amazing daughter.
Sorry, but I'm really sad right now, and I'm having a rough time. Thank you for being a shoulder to cry on, Tommy, Enox --- AND especially Jill & Dirgek.

Tommy/Enox - 2 people in the same body, that made me think.
DK's music does seem to make people cry, most of my family and people who used to know her cannot bear to listen to it. Since I discovered it I have found it totally compelling and listen to it most days. It makes me feel she is still with me and makes me feel we are still very close. The songs that moved me the most were the very early ones with just her and the guitar. They really got to me.
Tommy if you don't want to cry when listening to DK, the happiest songs are 'Beat Dancin', 'Colleen', 'Angela' and 'Shoe Fetish'.
Phlegm, I find your music and DK's music seems to complement each other so well. When I listen to yours I have to listen to hers straight after. It seems to go together. I think it is because you both sing from the heart and pour out your emotions into the lyrics. It seems like we were destined to meet, some higher power brought us together. Do you remember one of the topics of 'conversation' in the indian restaurant ?
I have all the wave separate vocal tracks for most of the songs so they could be adapted to other backings if you wanted to sing along with her. Let me know which ones you think might be appropriate. What you think about 'Pain Killer' - seems to fit in with how you are feeling at the moment. There is another version of the lyrics 'Pain F**ker which I haven't put on the internet so far not wanting to offend anyone.
DK was a very complex character, she had so many aliases and communicated very much via the internet. I am sure there are many people who knew her in cyber space that we will never know about. Her computer has so many documents on it I am sure there is more to discover but it will probably take a lifetime to go through it all.
Peace and Love J

Jill, I love you and Dirgek (Nikola) --and trust me, I listen to her EVERY day! Just sometimes MORE than others, due to the mood I'm in.
Honoured that you think there's a connection too; and that you think our music goes well together! It's a good thing, 'cause we're sometimes back to back on a few of my stations. She's on a MUCH higher level vocally though, to be fair. Like I've said, sultry, haunting & dark meets angelic. Simply Beautiful and her spirit, as I've said many times is SO vital & alive.
That's why she's almost always on my daily play list.
GUESS WHAT? I went ahead and put up that crazy song that you found on one of my other music distribution sites -- JUST for you, 'cause it's my LEAST favorite in some ways! SO please, listen, enjoy and hopefully it'll provide a laugh for a few others out there....
Here it is: Psychic Friend
Gotta go, day job is a comin', Love ya Jill.
-yer someday UK pal, pHLeGm

Thanks so much for putting up that song. I don't know why you are not fond of it I think its great and Hugo also endorses it so it must be good !
The things I like is that it has so much bounce in it, puts you in a happy mood. I love the strange barking and whistling noises in the middle and the sexy Spanish line.I am trying to work out one bit which is 'the flowers in the ??????? made me swoon'. It sounds like it is a good line.
Please take a listen to Yonlu's music and the old blues music in my other blogs and let me know what you think.
Hope the day jobs getting better. We are looking forward to PG bands gig on Sat and Tony's birthday party on Sunday so its going to be a busy weekend.

I will definitely be checking out Yonlu, since she's endorsed by somebody who's opinion is truly valued by me....and the BLUES post you did.
Still quite jealous of your gettin' to see Papa George now, for like, the 5th time LIVE!!!! Give him a big hug for me & sway to his beautiful blues for me you AND Tony, at that show.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY early, TONY! So sorry we can't make it, but as you know we're NOT YET livin' near enough to do so. I know it'll be a gas!
DAY job is gonna be stressful until I'm able to PROVE I'm the sales guy they want. That's always the hardest part, even if you bust your ass ya gotta work TWICE as HARD, when you like a ROCK & ROLL freak show! But that's a choice I made a long time ago, so I'm not whinin' about that hurtle just that the job is stressful, with long hours and little rewards & encouragement, except for what you find within yourself. I'll make it through somehow. I'm gonna hit the __ again, before I go back to work in a few minutes, for the second shift so I get SMOOTHER in my delivery, ya know.
Thanks for carin'! Hope you get MANY of those cool friends he's got in the Artsy districts of London to show up, and make it a Rockin' party this weekend.
Princezzz says hi, but I think she's communicating with you through Jeri's typing assistance on the side too, right? The CD project is movin' along, and I'm still confident your gonna love her work! She's a sweety, huh?
And thanks for diggin' that song! I was suprised to see that HUGH, talented mo' fo' that he is, dug it right off the bat! i guess I'll have to write up a quick promo, before I get back into the MONEY makin' side of life (for now I'm still workin' to see MUSIC become a viable career someday, as you well know but we shall see, eh?) for now it's the day job.
THE lyric your refering to, by the way, is: ".....shaved my head, and tried a trip with Reverand Moon (REverand Sun Young Moon, you know) ... but the FLOWERS in the AIRPORTS just made me SWOON..."
My favorite though is this: "back in guyana with Reverand Jimmy Jones; I wanted to drink the Kool Aid but I just had to go...." what a silly wordsmith, eh? tee heee....
-love, pHLeGM
