London welcomes Obama
London welcomes the Obamas. Lets hope the G20 will do something to sort out the global mess. Today in London there is to be many protests by anarchists and anti capitalists on a day being called Financial Fools Day ahead of the summit with effigies of bankers being burnt.

I'll bet the INTENTION for some of them was good, and I'll bet there's a FEW intelligent blokes that got involved in the fiasco.
We do need a GODDAMN Revolution right about now, Mr. Larree.....

Phlegm, I have been at work all day and I am at home now catching up with the days events. Seems the majority of the protests were peaceful since people wanted to get their messages across. I think a lot of Sheik's friends were there. A lot of the people are intelligent, caring people who want an alternative way of life more towards the ideology of Schumacher's 'Small is Beautiful'. The morons are certainly a minority.

I've always found the British people to be quite hospitable whenever I've had cause to be there.
I remember my first visit, walking about Piccadilly circus, it was actually quite disappointing, ....very few animals, and very shoddy production imo.
I tried to take a ride in one of those red double decker buses that everyone seemed to be so fond of over there at the time, ...but of course the stairs were far too narrow to allow access.
Pity that.
But all in all I found it to be quite quaint, and not at all like what they try to portray it to be in the media, ...gangs of scantilly clad female hoodlums chasing down little old men, ...then slapping them repeatedly on the top of the head and such, ...I recognized it as staged propoganda almost immediately.
I'd imagine that the "protests" we saw today, were merely more of the same. You see, it's nothing more than a myth perpetrated on an unsuspecting public, by our government's respectively controlled media, ...spoon fed to us in order to try and reinforce our inate fears, and keep us divided, fighting amongst ourselves, and firmly under the thumb of ..."the man".
I would encourage all of the protesters out there today to look past that, and instead focus on the common bond that we share with these quirky, lovable, funny talking, soccer hooligan brethren of ours.
In brotherhood,
I am Mr. ED

Compared to the number of protesters there was only a small number of violent incidents supposedly caused by Italian anarchists. The man who died had a heart attack and probably would have died anyway. The cameras gave a distorted view by focusing predominantly on those incidents.
Capitalism has burnt itself out, an alternative must be found. Bring on the revolution !

Francis the talking mule used to tell a story about a bunch of bored foolish folks who lured by the prospect of some type of "free gift", had hiked out into the middle of nowhere to hear some guy give a speech about some new upstart company that he was launching. (I suppose it was similar to today's time share sales seminars)
There they were miles from town, all of the local restaurants were apparently either closed or some distance away, and none of the irresponsible bastards had taken the personal responsibility necessary for their sorry selves, and brought any food with them.
...Anyhow, as Francis tells it, ...the guy giving the speech and his highly motivated support staff had some stale rolls and some fishes, ...and were savvy enough marketers to recognize the outstanding PR opportunity that had presented itself, and so endeavored to fed the irresponsible hungry masses.
Long story short, ...thanks to the positive press generated by the giant fish giveaway promotion, ...the upstart company was able to attract numerous investors, and became spectacularly successful, eventually expanding their operation into a multinational conglomerate able to open thousands upon thousands of franchises all over the world that are still quite profitable to this very day.
Their business model has tried and tested and even been copied over and over again by various competitors offering their versions of competing "one off" products.
The moral of the story according to Francis, was that sometimes doing the right thing has a way of being even more profitable than selling a few fish sandwiches would have been.
At least I think that was what the moral was, ...Francis and I were both pretty drunk, and whenever that happened the conversation always inevitably turned towards the time he caught me sleeping with his wife, and her sister, and well... you now how that goes.

You don't get out much do ya Sterling ? .... Bwahahahahahahhaaha !!!!!!!!!
Let me do you a favor ... Read this if you are able.....
Capitalism in the U.S. 101 in black and white ...
A bunch of Capitalist from England, Holland, France and Spain sent slaves over here to further their cause ...
(That's right, the people that came here were not free, they were indentured slaves)
When they became, free the Capitalist back in the native countries tried to make slaves out of the 2nd generation born here by taxing them to death.
But that generation fought for and won their freedom, so they became Capitalist ... and they made slaves of the Native people here, (and killed the ones who resisted) ... when the Native people died out, the Capitalist imported slaves from Africa and other far off lands ... When these slaves won their freedom, the Capitalist went to China and Russia to import more slaves to further their agenda ... and also imported Jews and others as well for slave labor ... When these people earned their freedom ... the Capitalist started using Mexicans and using other slave labor in their own third world countries ... now that these Mexican people are earning their freedom and the borders are being closed and the third world countries are catching up with the times ... guess who is in line to be the slaves for the Capitalist now ? ... Here it is in black and white .... YOU ... and your children...

"Americans will take America back. People are rapidly waking up."
Americans did take America back. For 8 years the name of America was put into the shitcan by the corrupt Bush and Cheney, and now in a few short months, Obama has nearly completely restored our status as leaders on the world stage.
You're as blind as a bat, Larree. The right wing and Republicans have never been more lost. Their whole group of collective leaders are a complete joke. They first put out a budget with no numbers and then one that was laughable, even a lot of their own voted against it. Almost all of their potential nominees in 2012 are horrible, couldn't beat the worst Democrat.

---- Updated 4/4/2009 9:24:11 PM
I remember the summer I spent as an impressionable young pony with the Maherashi.
We'd discuss all sorts of things, but I found him to be quite inciteful when it came to his understanding of the conflicts between the nations, whom he asserted had individual personalities much like we people and horses.
So many he would say, totally misunderstand the fundamental concepts upon which America's path towards enlightenment has been founded, ...even sometimes the Americans themselves.
The American view he'd tell me, is that EVERY individual is special, EVERY individual a divine entity, a chosen one, and an aspiring prince entitled to the American throne.
I remember both George Harrison and myself spending hours over tea and Sitars, being blown away by that concept, ...Every Individual Divine, Every individual greater than the whole.
I saw this idea manifested clearly just a few years ago, when the people here tore out every sidewalk on every corner in America and replaced them with new ones with little ramps for wheelchairs, and turtles.
Hundreds of Billions of dollars were spend from one end of the land to the other.
Hundreds of millions that make up "the whole" sacrificed for mere thousands of short legged turtles and "individuals" in wheelchairs.
We "the whole" are a collection of individuals, ...first and foremost, endowed by our creator with certain "inalienable rights". We are the people, and the Government each and every one of us.
To discount, limit, or reduce the individual to a status of worth deemed to be less than that of the state, even when the states goals are ascribed the lofty title of "The common good", is nothing more than unenlightened oppression by the State.
This is the fundamental flaw of both Communism, and its gateway drug (Socialism)
according to Maharashi Yogi, Communism's internal conflict arose from it's assertion that there was no God, struggling with it's inability to recognize it's own casting of the State in the role of the divine being.
At least I think that was what he was saying, ...of course we were all pretty stoned from whatever that was in the tea, so I could be wrong I guess.
But I'm thinking that ultimately most Americans will in time come to find Socialism to be somewhat inhibiting, and will opt instead for a more enlightened form of Capitalism, that at it's heart will hold the understanding that it is the creation of wealth that makes the social aspects of government possible, and that capitalism has and always will be far more effective of creating this wealth than its Social/Communal counterpart, and that without that wealth all will have an equal share of a pie that can't possibly feed us.
The real enemy is not greed, poverty, or state, nor is it Capitalism, Communsim, Socialism, or any other kind of ism, ist, or ite, ...just hunger, sickness, death.
