JACK UNDER FIRE
As some of you may or may not know, Jack likes to have fun from time to time.......playing skittles, doing some synchronised swimming, making plays on words and poking dead things with sticks!!!
Since joining this bubbling community, I have made it a goal of mine to seek alternative routes when advertising me goods to station owners.....If me made you chuckle, then me job is done!!
In light of this, or maybe shade......you can imagine me suprise on receiving a scathing message from who I thought to be an encouraging, contributing and upstanding member of IAC.
THE FOLLOWING IS THE MESSAGE I RECEIVED FROM MR STEVE ISON:
" Thats actually really pissed me off that you obviously thought i'd added your song 'cos i wanted to get on your totally rubbish 'ask and you'll be added' snackin jack-or whatever- station...
No comments or nothing lol-just 'friends' who ask-I'm sure it'll sound really really excellent..
How magnanamous of you to spend 90 seconds of your time like that adding to the cultural life of IAC-imbetween the 2 months you've spent station-spamming your 2 songs lol "
Before I continue, I would like to introduce you to the comment which spurred Mr Steve to launch a puzzling assault on me good self.
THE FOLLOWING IS A COMMENT I POSTED FOR MR STEVEN....NOT SO EVEN, AS WAY OF ACKNOWLEDGING AND SHOWING ME GRATITUDE FOR ADDING ONE OF ME SONGS....THE PADDLE WAY:
" No doubt there is an ulterior motive behind this most recent of adds!? HHMMMM?? I wonder!!?? Grateful am I....but cautious am I also. You see....I have been burned before!! Oh and p.s...get some better speakers!! "
Oh Dear, looks like me's hit an extremely raw nerve!!! One that I didn't even know was there....fancy that!!
It seems that SOME people,are missing a sense of humour!! As for me creating a station solely to promote friends......I have none!! Maybe it's 'cos me clothes smell of fish!? Who knows!!!?? But what I can tell you, is....and I quote this from one of me recent blogs entitled " OH YES....IT HAS BEGUN", is........
" 'JACK'S MUSICAL SNACK SHACK', will be selecting the very best compostition of each artist, for it's playlist. "
Maybe I should have called me station 'THE BEST SONG BY EACH ARTIST ", but me's a sucker for rhymes and was seduced by the concept of ' JACK'S MUSICAL SNACK SHACK ".
It's all there in the fine print baby.....and boy!! Is it fine!!

No reason to air private messages here Jack....it will serve only to rattle things up and start a pissing contest., that said....the "ulterior motive" line from you seems kind of Odd to me.
I have a better question, why do you talk like Jar Jar Binks???? :)

I don't know how anyone can be offended by anything Jack Paddle says. You have to make sense out of it first!

Just thought i'd let you know..
I hope you appreciated the sense of humour in it-as i appreciated the (obvious) 'sense of humour' in yours..
Good luck with your station btw as you casually press the 'add song' button a few times..
You can actually add a song every 6 seconds (if your fast)..I've seen it done on the front page-sometimes 15 or 20 times in a row!!!
Sounds too good to be true?

Best bit is,you don't have to actually listen or nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems like the 2 people quibbling know each other so I doubt any harm was meant by this, but I will jump in to say that posting PMs is generally not cool so if that starts happening we will start moderating.

A while back I thought the same thing! I think at one point in time, before teenagers took over the internet, LOL did stand for lots of love. WLOL is a radio station in town and I think that's where the call letters originated, back in the '80's. Then I stumbled on a message my son wrote on our computer to someone where he used it over and over, and Lots of Love just didn't make sense anymore. LOH maybe. So I asked him why he kept saying Lots Of Love to this person he obviously despised. He laughed out loud at me.

which i'm doing now. i got a similar, though much shorter (and public), response from another IACer when i erroneously double posted in their station's shoutbox. my bad on the double post, but wow! you'd think they would know where the delete function for the shoutbox was and use it. maybe they just really didn't like our music. which is fine.
posting private messages...not so fine.
offsetting penalties? (i think that's an american football joke;)

oh, i see...you've got the "owned by steve ison" thing posted. which i couldn't see (i guess)because the righthand ads have been doing funky things, or i wouldn't have shoutboxed you. because i know and appreciate that you have played my band on several of your stations.

Ya know what? My browser has been screwed up ever since I clicked that link to the Spaceboy station. And you're right - the ad on the right is duplicated in the middle of the page, covering Steve's name. After I left that page the layouts of all the pages got scrambled! There's something more amiss on that page than a double-post.
Clearing the cache will probably fix it.

i cleaned my cache/cookies/temp internet files (per stegor's rec.) and the problem seems to have vanished.
he says he replicated it by clicking on the spaceboy link in this pipeline, maybe you can try doing that and see if it gets you the desired results!
i can describe it though...many/most station pages had the right margin ads doubled and the new copy superimposed maybe 2in from where the original is. the main/home pages and the pipeline pages would be spread out 2x times or so horizontally from their normal, with the left margin unaffected- so everything but the left most columns pushed right significantly.
hope this helps a little!

It surely is a flying jack(et) I picked up from the designer shop "Flip of Hollywood" way back in 19 eighty oatcake.......... but this is the first time I've worn it on iac, well spotted! and feel free to browse all my personals :)
