Things I used to do that I don't do now
Hello there, I got an email reminding me about the Golden Kayaks and I'd even forgotten my password it's been so long since I was here and I used to be here several times a day a few years back.
I started to think of other things I don't do that I was once passionate about like buy a daily newspaper, it's all online now and watch Australian Soaps twice a day. I used to play Scrabble a lot and don't now. I also no longer ride a bike and that was a big hobby, I'd probably fall off today.
Is there something you used to be passionate about or do regularly that you don't have an interest it lately?
I look forward to catching up on some listening and sending in my nominations, hope it's not too late?

No, not too late, still a couple of weeks I think.
I used to wear very high heeled stilettos all the time but I tried some on recently and couldn't walk in a straight line - V

Greetings Listener and welcome back! My name is Whitherward Music Monster Michael or WWMM Mike for short. I have been here at IMP for 11 months now. I too am a listener here and not an artist. The name of my station is "Groovy Music Monsters" and it is currently #4 in the station charts and was as high as #3. I will be building more stations this winter.
You still have 12 days to get in your Golden Kayak nominations. Scott established the cutoff of 12 AM PST 12/13/17. The songs that are eligible are those uploaded between 11/11/16 and 11/10/17. Scott's complete instructions are here on the Pipeline still. I'll 'bump' it to the top for you.
My nominations for Best Band, Male Artist, and Female Artist are...
...nah, I best not reveal yet; lol! (But they are all featured artists on my station, of course!)
As to what I used to do, it helps one to know that I was born in 1950, and in 3 years will begin my 8th decade of life, if I live that long. I get only the Sunday newspaper and am surprised even that is still published. I used to love to play golf, but hung up my clubs in 1997. Too expensive now, too time-consuming, and I would really suck if I tried again. In the early 70's I played a lot of tennis, but now I'd need the EMT's nearby. I used to play a lot of backgammon, both live and online, but now not. I used to sit for hours playing my piano or keyboard and now seldom do. THAT has got to change!!! I still mow my own large corner lot lawn and do yard work. Maybe that is why I am still alive.
I used to have buddies over to watch college football, especially my Nebraska Cornhuskers. But they have sucked for 20 years and the enthusiasm has waned. We are on the verge of hiring a new coach; hopefully the quarterback who won the 1997 National Championship for us.
My wife and I used to play a lot of board games and have friends over to join us. Not in many years have we done that and THAT has got to change.
A lot of these things have been replaced by Facebook and following new artists there and here at IMP that I have just discovered since April 2016.
My name is Mike and I live in Omaha, Nebraska. You are an Aussie, mate? Nice to "meet" you!

Welcome back Listener!
Yeah, I am old so there is a lot of things I don't do that I used to do. The biggest I can think of is playing basketball. I use to play pick up games everyday. Man, I love that sport. But alas, the doctor said no more so I stopped. It appears that my heart is no longer capable of keeping up with all the running, jumping, slamming and stuff. Another thing I use to do daily is martial arts. Mostly sparring and heavy bag work. But after my accident last year I was told I couldn't do that any more either. Of course that also ruled out boxing (which has always been a great stress reliever for me) and teaching martial arts. It seems that most of the things I don't do anymore are physical things that I can no longer do due to my age and health conditioning. I try to stay in the best shape possible just in case I have to ward off an attack. These are very dangerous times we live in and I stay aware of my surroundings at all times. It's sort of a good symptom of my PTSD. I do a 4 1/2 mile power walk every morning and one of the things I use to do during that walk is sing. But now days I just do a military cadence. A couple of people have actually come up and asked why I don't sing anymore. My answer was "nobody's listening". But I use to do that to keep my singing chaps up to par. A voice is a muscle that must be worked out daily. But vocally, lately, I have been lazy. I'll get back to it after the holiday music rush is over. I am trying to reach all of my contracted song demands by end of the year. Life is such a fucking struggle. I love it! Anyway, those are a few things I have not been doing that usually do.
Much Respect,
Stoneman

I'm a station manager here on IMP. Well, I used to listen to my vast CD collection, but I don't anymore. I now listen to this vast empire of Indie Artists.
