I don't consider iac to be a collab site. I think it is a cool thing with a great community. I am looking to partner with these guys so that completed works could be automatically submitted here. I think this site is one of the best ways to promote your music on the internet.
We found around 30 collab sites. A few of them that have been popping up have been real good while most are just converted message boards. I think that this is evidence that online musician's collaboration is a great idea who's time has come.
As far as who's site is better or worst, it a matter of opinion. Some people will like the way we do things others may prefer the way someone else does it.
All I can say about MyOnlineBand.com is that it has been created by musicians for musicians. We all where using other collab sites and got frustrated by how difficult they made the creative process. On the other hand the message board sites while easy to use had big gaps in functionality. We tried to make this the best of both worlds. Easy to use and as functional as possible with out forcing users to download plug-ins or other software.
The only plug-in used on the site is Silverlight for media streaming. This was chosen because it lets Mac users stream WMA files and has the most flexibility for our developers. Not having Silverlight does not prevent users from participating in collaborations though.
Also, our site is 100% free.

Looks very similar to Musicianscollaboration.com. I like your colors better though as you can probably tell by looking at mine.

I don't think Larree was talking about IAC when he said that. Several people have posted here about various collab sites. Of course all collabs are a good thing.
