you're right Sam, kinda blues scale sounding for the 1700's very hip stuff back then. I wonder what the top 24 songs were at the time? :)
Yeah Sam 1967 had a lot of great non top 40 stuff I know. And alot of those songs listed above are great. But they all fit in a already done before song formula. And that's what I was getting at. I am the Walrus is revolutionary in composition, instrumentation layering, with voice overs and sound effects, and on top of all that it still ROCKed. Hell Led Zep sold their soul to the devil for that kind-a chord progression. And yes Sir George Martin had a lot to do with it. But that is pure Lennon genius!
