Gems from the past.
At the last rehearsal of The Sally Strawberry Revue Sally went off to find a tape of a song we thinking of covering, and at the same time came across the case of a cassette tape of mine that she had bought went we briefly met, 15 years ago. It got me thinking as I remembered recording a jazzy instrumental on that tape which would suit our sound perfectly.
So I dug my own copy, and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! So fifteen years later I'm planning on covering my own instrumental :-)
Here's the link to the old version transfered from cassette tape Shuflin'.
Anyone else got surprises from early in their career?

Fun tune Andy ....
Someday I'm going to get around to converting my only early recording from vinyl to digital ... I played trumpet in a Jazz ensemble thirty some years ago ...
Unless someone caught us on tape when we were gigging in bars years ago, for some reason I never recorded anything at all until about five years ago ...
I just like playin' ... but LOVE listenin' ... so .... Drag some more out !

"Listening back to old stuff is a revelation...so to speak?"
Isn't it just! I find things go through phases, you like it when you record it, then you start to see the flaws and hopefully put them right in your next project (or at least workon them) then after a long break you suddenly hear the good stuff that was there in the first place!

Thanks Sam,
If you've still got the vinlt is not too difficult to do, just hook the recordplayer up to your soundcard!
Look forward to hearing it!
