Video can enhance a song
Hello groovers

I loved the debate the other day about music videos.
So being the stirrer that I am I thought I'd start it up again.

I have put a video I made a little while ago on my artist page, and the feedback I have received to date has been that they like the song more because of the video.

Check it out and tell me what you think.

Cheers Mark

must be timing these things wrong

Haha! I sure timed my watching of it wrong! I watched it at work and I work in a very open environment. I quickly clicked away when it got to the naked basketball and looked sheepishly over my shoulder :P

Personally, I am turned off by reality tv shows like Scarred and the like, where it's entertainment through injury. I just don't understand the appeal.

But the cat fight was hilarious!

I'm hooked on video of any type. I don't buy music now unless i can watch too. I've always given music my COMPLETE attention -- none of this earplugs-on-the-street bullshit that everybody likes now.

you are one of my favourite artists here -- great toon. I may have to move to Oz with my $300 bass.

Thanks Terry
I am honoured by your kind words......Yeah it's a shame you live so far away...but isn't it amazing that someone on the other side of the world can get into your music.....I'm still coming to terms with it all....thanks again for adding some of the songs to your station....... I too enjoy videos with my music, provided it adds to the experience, or the message the song is sending,. I've always thought of music clips for our songs as short films, rather than girls in bikinis, or girls on the dancefloor or rappers trying to look cool. One day I will make one when the budget permits.

I was trying to think of a film clip that embodies what I was saying above and I thought of Hazard by Richard Marx, like a mini movie.
Theres a heap of good ones out there.

Cheers Mark

Hey Mark,

That's a pretty cool clip and had me watching all the way through. I totally agree with you about the mini film concept too. Something that is lacking in most of the commercial crap.
Have you found your bass player yet?
Great to see more Aussies here!!! :-8

Here's my first adventure into creating a film clip for one of my songs. As you'll see, it was written before Kevin Rudd became PM.
I did all the editing and the artwork (pencil drawings scanned into my PC) in this clip. I originally filmed the footage of John Howard for channel 7 news but I got them to sign an agreement so I retained copyright. :-)

Hope you like it....

Hi Titania.

You are quite the talent aren't you. I was just checking out your artist page very impressive.
Good job on the video, quite artistic, though I've always been one to try and leave the politics out of my music, they get far too much airplay as it is,,,LOL.

We've got a bass player but he has commitment issues at present, " I'm not really sure this is where I want to be" is his catch phrase at the moment, so until he settles down we'll keep advertising.

So where abouts in Melbourne do you live? I lived in Broadmeadows from about age 12 to 20, before I packed up and moved back up to QLD. My family on my fathers side still mostly live scattered around Victoria.

Well it's been lovely to meet you and I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Maybe I'll see you around the corridors of this vast establishment.

Cheers Mark

Thanks Mark :-)

Sounds like a good plan with your search for a bass player. Sounds to me he's not totally into it.

Broady eh! I was living in South Melbourne for a couple of years and Albert Park for around four years before that. Before moving to Melbourne, I lived in Ballarat (LOVED the music scene there) but I grew up in Geelong which is where I am living again now.

No doubt we will see each other around here. :-)
