It wasn't the last time, but the time that I was the most frightened in my life was in 1979. We had a huge tornado in this area that killed some 40-odd people. It came very close to where I was living, and me and my family sat huddled in the bathtub, with a mattress over us as the twister passed within blocks of us. The sound was incredible and the damage (even though we weren't directly hit) was substantial. For years afterwards, I would cringe every time the weather started to get nasty. I still get a bit of a shiver down the spine, when the skies turn dark suddenly, and the winds pick up. I've certainly been scared since then, but not nearly as intensely.
