More attention to detail
Firstly we would like to apologise.
We have been guilty in the past of offering up poorly finished material and I must admit, it has been due to the excitement of making a new song and wanting other people to hear and enjoy it asap
. I recently read one of the forums put up by, Choozy Suzy I think her name was, about sub standard recordings etc. and it started me thinking about all the things I hear in our songs that I always say "I should fix that" but have never bothered to take the time to do. So I sat down and listened to all of them and made a list of corrections needed.
Now I'm not by any stretch of the imagination a sound engineer, but after many painstaking hours I think these 3 songs are finally finished. At least to the best of my ability, done in my humble little studio on the PC. So please take the time to have a listen and leave any comments, tips etc. that you feel inclined to. Also a big thankyou to those of you who have put the sub standard recordings on their stations, I hope you are still enjoying them and that the newer versions meet up to your satisfaction.
I have also put a song into the guys here at IAC for mixing and will put it up as soon as it is returned to me. So without further ado, (drumroll please) here are the songs.

Well this is good, somebody actually got off their backsides 'cause of something Susie said. There's no way however I was talking about you guys and to prove it you are now an official 'chosen one' but because you listen.
Make friends with Choosy and the World's a better place.
Fall out with Choosy and get egg on your face

It's been a while since I dropped in on your page so it was nice to catch up on some of your material, Mark.
I enjoyed all three toonz especially "I'll Find You".
They all sound good to me, and I admire that you took the time to "correct" three songs.

I also listened to all three and they do sound awfully good.
I agree about the attention to detail thing. (If I may digress for a moment)
I weas actually in the studio yesterday, fixing the mix on my song "Hey"; there are 3 tracks of drums... going in rounds. All of those tracks are the same drum part looped, and then duped onto another track.
Listening back, I thought that the separate tracks could be heard more-distinctly if the drum on each track sounded a bit different. So, I went in and used AutoTune to change the pitch on 2 of the 3 drums: one we tweaked 2 cents sharp; one we tweaked 2 cents flat; and the third we left alone.
Listening back, you can't really tell that the drums are actually a different pitch from one another. But the end result was exactly as we had hoped; you can year all three tracks now, instead of them all blending in with one another.
Also reverbed out the vocals and removed the acoustic guitar from the choruses, but I think the drum tweak is the most representative of "the little things".
Sorry to take over your thread, NR. Your mixes sound great. I just wanted to add a concrete example of something that I have done.

Thanks for the feedback people.
Susie we are honoured to be included on your page seeing as how choosy you are.
Kozy Kingz, good to hear from you, I just dropped by your page for a listen, groovy stuff, I'll get back over there later and have a listen to the Ray Porter interview.
Hop on pop thanks for the background on your creative process I'm enjoying that song "Hey" but the band is divided on it, you can't win them all.
Thanks once again guys
Mark
