Crappy Intro
There have been threads here before about intros and endings and if they work or not. I think that this is an example of a really stupid intro that would make me walk away before the most beautiful electronica instrumental started.

Yeah, that's a crappy intro for sure. In fact that that whole intro riff that is repeated throughout the song adds nothing to the piece and if fact it's even out of tune. I love the piano and the percussion but that strange riff is a real distraction from a good song. Whoever let that in should be fired! :-)

Richard - Actually after that awful faux Asian sound fades out most of the song is just the hypnotic bass, chord progression, electro percussion and graceful piano drifting through in a jazz way (I could listen to it all day) .... it does come in again at the end and that's always a disappointment haha. Totally fire the guy who thought it would be cool quirky. That so didn't work.
Larree - agreed, the percussion is NOTHING like real drums - no comparison. I've played drums in a band back in the day. Next to keys, the drums are my absolute favorite! I think of this as a totally different instrument entirely vs fake drums .... To me it's like piano vs synth. They totally each do things the other could never do. Maybe include electric piano in that. Again, a totally different instrument from the other 2.

I've listened to many songs that have sound effects going over a minute into the song. Some artists need to have their recording software taken away from them.

Yeah, me too. It's frustrating because a lot of the time the song is great before somebody got that oh so clever idea to be edgy or something ....totally take their toys away.
