NH band "Kings of Crisis" making an impact on America's deployed troops and their families.
Just 2 months from completion of their song "From Over Here" the band "Kings of Crisis" of Dover has received over 75k Myspace hits & more than 150k song plays. Messages of support are received daily.
One such message received is from SGT Robert Clark of 2nd Div LTT 2412 in Al Kindi, Iraq. It reads: "I listened to it and thought wow, what a wonderful song. It totally told the story and feelings of what we go through while we are away from our families and loved ones. It was very touching. I have listened to it like 20 times now and I just love it! It's kinda nice to know that there are people who remember us over here and that they know what we are going through, that and they have the skills to put it in a beautiful song." Robert goes on to address radio stations themselves by including: "If you could please play it on the local radio stations so others can hear and understand the pain and the price that we are paying for freedom. Soldiers in all of New England and their families would definitely appreciate this song!"
"Kings of Crisis" has always been a socially conscious band and has written a number of songs dealing with the "here and now". Ric Carter, one of 3 core band members, says "It is great knowing that I can combine what I love to do with issues at hand and have others appreciate and love it too. As a veteran myself, it is humbling to receive messages of support from those who are making the greatest sacrifice one can make. Very humbling."
In addition to their impact on U.S. troops, "Kings of Crisis" has also pulled off something not far from unbelievable. As an unsigned band, without a cd completed, they've earned the opening spot, with their performance at Copperfield's, in the sold-out show at Boston’s "Hard Rock Cafe" on August 23rd. In a flurry of activity, they'll also perform at Nickfest 2008, a charity event, a week later in Wolfeboro, NH. All of this is remarkable considering that "Kings of Crisis" has performed live in just 3 shows in the last 2 years. Gary Pomeroy, lead singer of "Kings of Crisis", says "We like to polish our act as much as possible before live appearances. To our way of thinking, mediocrity is not acceptable. We owe it to ourselves and our fans to be the best we can be."
"Kings of Crisis", a socially conscious NH band, is grateful that so many of our troops like their music. In addition to their upcoming performances in Boston, MA and Wolfboro, NH, the band members look forward to writing and performing many more socially relevant songs for everyone, but especially for our soldiers who are fighting for our freedom.
