What Really Goes On With IAC Listens?
Maybe I shouldn't seek this answer out as it will probably only depress me, but I think I would like to know anyway.
I have not added new stuff here in quite some time, and I have not been on the forum either, and yet I look into my stats, and it says I have several songs that get played more than a thousand times each month. If I added all the plays of every song per month it's 30,000 or more each month. 30 thousand????
That sounds wonderful and feels real good and all except for one thing: it does not seem at all likely to me that people are listening to my stuff at IAC that much.
I do have it linked to my face book page and also on my signature here and at vs planet, but other than that, I don't push it anywhere. Well, the address is on my CDs that go out at gigs, too.
But if I'm getting over 30,000 listens per month, and my numbers say I am, how come absolutely no one ever tells me they are listening? If I didn't look at the numbers and often I don't for months) I would assume that no one at all was listening to much of any of it.
Sure my songs are on a lot of people's stations, but those stations are mostly all over a year old, or even two or three or more.
Hey, if these listens are real, that is really great, but I think 30,000 or more per month seems ridiculously impossible.
Or am I secretly doing a lot better than I know?
Anyone have any knowledge? What's going on here?

You're on a lot of stations.
You have 34 songs.
People like your songs and play them and/or stream the stations they're on.
Most artists don't get that many plays, but those who have a good fan base, good station coverage and/or decent music, do.
