Songs I'm Learning for My Upcoming Pumpkin Patch Gig
I don't really have to do anything new since no one will have heard my show before, but I just don't feel like doing much of anything that I used to play at gigs. I haven't done a gig in quite some time, but my friend asked me to do this, so of course I will. These songs I'm learning are real intriguing to me. I play each of them in much lower keys than the originals. I love singing in low keys these days. According to Linus, sincerity is what counts in a pumpkin patch, and I can get sincerely behind these tunes:
Could It Be I'm Falling in Love?
Valerie (Winehouse covered it)
That's the Way of the World (EWandF)
This Must Be the Place (Talking Heads)
Until You Come Back to Me (Aretha)
Crazy (Gnarls not Patsy)
You Are the Sunshine of My Life
Passionfruit (Drake)
Misty Morning (Marley)
Also gonna do these standards which I already know:
Fly Me to the Moon
On a Clear Day
Moonriver
All kinds of work for something that will pass quickly and not be very significant, but it's nice to get in shape.
I'm so quiet these days when I play. Better turn the mics up.

Of course, that's not three hours of material. Maybe I'll just do a bunch of solos.
Just kidding. I'll need to be ready with about forty songs. I'll do some of mine, too.

Cool assortment of tunes bob, like your choices, I have done some of those but never touched any of Drakes music, could be worthwhile to do some arranging and scoring out of his music to fit piano and do up some voicings like I generally do styllizing them to suit my playing vibe
good job.

Well as you know, Could It Be I'm Falling In Love is one of my alltime favorties, please make a tape, I'm interested in hearing what you do with that, also Until You Come Back To Me, also in my top 50 soul songs ever. Also That's the Way Of The World.
Since you're being adventurous, did you ever consider Daydreaming by Aretha or Superwoman by Stevie or When Will I See You Again?

I'd love to hear you do a Nillson song; a more obscure one like this one:

That Nilsson tune is funny. I do Everybody’s Talkin’ which isn’t his, but his version is famous.
Pretty sure I used to play that America song in my teens.
I had Superwoman up next on my list. Want a lot of soul songs, but only certain ones grab me for me on solo acoustic. Daydreaming is a cool tune. Gonna chart out Sunshine right now.

Drake without beats is tricky Bry, but Passionfruit is coming along.

There are a whole slew of Nilsson songs I would love to hear you do, Bob.
Or maybe something from XTC?
I can hear you singing this one:
