Favorite Solo Section on Something of Yours
Even if you didn't play it-post it here, and we'll all check it out.
I think my favorite is on this song:

Comes in at about 1:25, but, of course, the whole lead up gives it the effect.

well I need to comment on this thread, because ever since I started making music, I have made it a point to do a feature solo on all my songs. It's often the most important part of the song too.
Don't know if you all remember this but I did a project centered around all my solos called Guitarnado. This podcast was the end result of that.

I will add this also. My best ever guitar playing and best solo I ever wrote is from this song.

Interesting question, Bob!
I had to think about it for a sec, but for me, it's probably the 9-part guitar harmony that comes in around 2:40 of this song"
"Spinning, Standing Still"
As with every solo, it's best to listen to the whole song to get it's full effect. But, if you don't have the patience, you could at least give it about 10 seconds of lead time. Maybe that would put it in a little perspective.
I had fun doing this one.
(It's actually a 3-part harmony, over 3 octaves.)

Gee Bob, as you know, I am a instrumentalist so I play or write music out and give people melody lines to work in on or write and play them as well myself , so there is no real solo part because most songs I have a weaving melody line and variations throughout 99% of my music. I will locate something that might fit your criteria. give me some time, in promo mode right now and trying to get back into working my time pitching a new project of a client who has a new cd out, will come back and answer this

Treadmill: the thing I liked most in this tune was the lyric, the way certain lines were structured, the choice of words.

Spinning Standing Still: that is a righteous solo, tripped out texture. Also, the drum machine-ish tom/ kickdrum thing that rolls through the song regularly is cool, and it’s cool to mix that electro with that acoustic

Light My Fire: I would love to be able to play piano like that. So much to explore. You walk along nice,
I like the chord sequence that drops you out of your solo

Thanks, Bob!
When I hear that song, mostly what I hear are the things that I want to change. The process of recording that thing was not perfect. But the one thing in that song that I do love, every time that I hear it, is that guitar part. Always makes me smile.
So, thanks for listening, and I'm very happy that you like it, too.
