If You Like to Hear Writing Tapes
I have this one. This was recorded rather fast because it was too late to be up on a work night, but I wanted to get the parts I heard in my head on to the record. I don't think this will be an acoustic song. I don't know if I'll even have any acoustic on it.
But I did this thing with nothing but acoustic because I was in front of the mic and it was fast.
I was trying to see if these parts worked, and I like them a lot. It ain't the smoothest singing and such, but it's the kind of thing you show your musician friends when you're hot for your new song.

Lyric is there, too...

One of the prettiest tunes I ever hears Bob !
... if you're coming out with an electric version, I implore you to please consider leaving this acoustic version alone ...
It's really magnificent ....

This will be a comment that only appeals to those of a certain age that had a Radio Shack cassette deck of no known certain model ... yet I believe there are artists here who know exactly what I mean.
I've literally THOUSANDS of song germs on various cassette tapes.
Now if I could only remember where I put them ...

Gorgeous. I really wish I could do that.
...and I heartily agree with the Man Sans Band: this unadorned rendition is quite magnificent, so don't ditch it no matter what form the song takes in the end.
Cheers,
G

I'm gonna go ahead and be a doofus and say I am pretty thrilled to share it with some people. The chorus came to me in a dream a couple of years ago. I've been piecing the rest together ever since, careful not to allow in anything that was forced, waiting for something to grow organically, and the other day I thought I might have all the elements, so it was real fun to put it up, and I thank you for the warm reception.
When you work mostly alone, it is at times like you're ready to burst when you wanna show some musicians the thing you're growing.
If I end up keeping an acoustic version, it couldn't quite be this one. THis one has some real nice moments, but it also has some clear problems here and there.
I was surprised it worked as well as it did all in acoustic. In my mind it has a pretty driving beat.
We'll see. I may even combine the two. Whatever. At least the song is alive now. After two years.
