These Things I Heard...
...just now on Nova, and they'll go in the notebook, and then they may just drop into a song.
This is what I wrote down:
Day of the Dead when the butterflies arrive
we give them this offering of the things they liked
when they lived
Plain of the Moon
flew through the town
in your house looking for water
to twelve specific destinations
Americans didn't know they were
coming to these places
Can't beat that. Just writing it down.

I like the images I am getting from the words you wrote. Definitely good raw material for a tune.

I really like the Path you are following lately Bob ... thanks for sharing .... I find this an interesting concept ... as in your last post discussing human emotions ... and the true story that contained them all ...
... and now words from a human show ... I'd say that even if you never wrote a song .... that notebook of yours would be priceless ...

Well, they're not really my words. I mean these things I heard, I think. I mean as well as I can recall. I was just writing down what I could catch as it went by. What catches your attention...
It's a NOVA about butterflies.

"that notebook of yours would be priceless ..."
Well, it is...I mean, my daughter gave it to me. Fits in the pocket. And a pen that fits in a way that you can't tell it is in your pocket...

Do you not have a pen and notebook in your pocket or are you just not happy to see me?

I love that show, NOVA. When I was a kid my father always watched PBS in the evenings. His curiosity and fascination with everything really rubbed off on me. Guess that's why I watch mostly Discovery Channel and History Channel these days.
