We Are The Red Roses Black!
Hello AIC! I finally figured out this blog thing! My name is Sean, I am the front man of Red Roses Black, check out the bio if you don't believe it!! haha Anyways Just thought I would introduce myself to the world of AIC blog readers.

Since this is a blog, I guess I better have something worthwhile to blog about. I have to admit I'm not an avid blog writer or reader so please be gentle as this is my first time! Today I found out we are number 37 on the KIAC big 50 which is Amazing! Especially since I signed us up for IAC about 3 weeks ago, whoever is checking us out and liking what we do. The appreciation we have for you can not even be expressed and we dearly thank you!! IAC is an amazing resource for us to be able to promote the music we live for so THANKYOU THANKYOU IAC and everyone involved in the Indie community. If you want to see and hear more of us you can check us out at www.redrosesblack.com There is all sorts of fancy songs and pictures there for your liking. I am in the middle of convincing the band to get a prime membership here but we are soo broke we dunno if we can invest for a while.

anyways.. to the blog

ABOUT ME: As I said above I am Sean Andrews and I front the Toronto Canada based band Red Roses Black. We have been gigging as a band for about a year. We originalyl had a female singer in the band from April 07-August, and then we became the band we are today. So really we have been a band for about 7 or 8 months. I am 22 years old and as of now I am the chief songwriter and producer of the bands material. I have a home studio that I built from whatever money I could scrape together over the last 5 years and have taught myself to write and record basically through trial and error and never stopping. I work on and off as a studio engineer for Alan Frew of the band Glass Tiger, which has also taught me a lot about recording and the business. I live and breath this music and this industry, to the point of lost sleep, no friends, and complete and utter poverty. Well, I'm not living out of the garbage, but I would be if I was older and not afforded parents who are willing to let me live at home like a fuck until I can pull myself together and get a "real" job haha.

That's pretty much on me. Good first blog I guess. Sounds kinda like a 15 year old telling the world he goes to school, but F#$% it. I don't know what blogging is. I don't even understand it's reasons. But if it leaves 1 person interested in the music I create. It was all worth it.

Feel free to comment this blog or email me at

blackrosesmusic@gmail.com

With any questions or just to tell me i'm a wanker.

I apologize for my spelling and grammar.

Sean

Nice to meet you Sean. That was a pretty good first blog. Did you know you have the same name (more or less) as Shawn Andrews, an all-pro guard for the Philadelphia Eagles ?

You guys have a big sound. A lot of the reason for blogging at IAC is that you meet creative people like yourself. As somebody said, it's a culture. :)
