It's finished, check out my new song "You are how you drive"
The area in which I reside (Seattle Washington) has a reputation for the worst , pugnacious, discourteous, self absorbed drivers in the United States. This is my funky/bluesy social rant called "You are how you drive"
http://iacmusic.com/songs.aspx?SongID=77787&ArtistID=93328
And you know it's true, if you drive like an jerk, you probably are a jerk.
Check it out, and thanks,
Tim (T.J.) Franklin

Tim, I've got to take issue with your estimation of Seattle drivers. I've been a Seattle resident for about ten years and, coming from the Bay Area, I think drivers here are relatively polite, well-mannered and courteous. Perhaps you, yourself are an inconsiderate driver who brings out the worst in others (I'm just sayin'...). Seattle drivers, in general, drive the speed limit, always stop to let pedestrians cross, and are a lot better than in many places I've driven (and I've driven across the country twice). As with most places, unfortunately, we still have a problem with driving while on a cell phone, which is now illegal here, though they don't really enforce it.
Where are you from originally? (Everyone here seems to be from somewhere else). No harm intended, I just have a different perspective, and had to stick up for Seattlites.

> You Are How You Drive by HunkaFunk
Tim is Another one of those talented jack-of-all-instruments types, who can SING too, up on IAC, that I had previously overlooked.
EXCELLENT bluesy tune. Some good FUNK in there too.... But I should've expected that with the HunkaFunk name...
Welcome to PHLEGM PHAVOURITE Country and Blues, Tim!
Great Picture by the way, for your subject matter.

Tom,
I have to agree to disagree. Why even Ken Schram thinks Seattle drivers are horrible. I always use my signal, never tailgate (within reason-1 car length per 20 mph), only use the left lane for passing, and always give people room to merge, especially when they use they're signals. However, I will NOT be bullied. When someone insists on riding my ass, even after I've tried to let them go around, even changed lanes...then they get the dreaded brake lights (I've even thought of rigging a "dumby" brakelight, that lights, but doesn't activate the brake)...Because, they have options, but WANT to hassle me. They are assholes. They probably want to fight someone, or like getting a "rise" out of people. What they get from me are brakes, and after about 2 or 3 times they get the picture, and race on around, flip me off, and go on their unhappy way. But I don't think it's fair for them to be so flippant with their, and my LIVES...I digress, deep breaths, in...out...ahhh

Tom,
And a clarification. I live in kirkland, not Seattle, and I think that Seattle proper has decent, to good drivers...because there are lots of cops! I drive from Kirkland to Olympia every Sunday to rehearse with a funk/dance cover band. I always have my little Hyundai packed with gear. The drivers are maniacal at best. Weaving in and out of traffic at 100 mph (no cops in sight) Cruise up behind you at 80, and ride 24" from your bumper, until you move. This last Sunday, I was in the middle lane, and the left lane was stopped, for some reason. This woman, in an S.U.V. on the phone, not paying attention, dicovered to her horror that she was barrelling down on stopped traffic at 80, suddenly swerved into my lane with no warning, and went up on two wheels. I had to, equally as instantly, swerve to my right, to avoid a collision. By the grace of God, there was no one in that lane, or we'd all have been killed. the worst part was Tom, she wouldn't even LOOk at me. Wow, we are how we drive brother.

Well, I have to agree with you that the world is full of bad drivers, and I'm glad to hear you're not one of them. I, also, try to drive defensively and cooperatively and not competitively or aggressively. Whenever I go down to the Bay Area to visit my parents, I feel out of place on the road, because everyone wants to go 100mph and will ride right up on your tail to tell you so. That's why Seattle seems tame by comparison. I don't have a lot of experience driving in Kirkland, but I think the east side has a different attitude from Seattle proper.
I'm at work, with no speakers, so I haven't dug your tune yet, but I will this evening.
Drive safely EVERYONE!
