And this one is definitely not a "mainstream" record, but it is from the current century and is one of my favorite albums from any century!

Oh. I have heard this all before. In the 1960's there was a big backlash against the Motown sound from older people who claimed that it was all trash music. Then, again I heard it during the British invasion when the Beatles took over the world airwaves. Once again, the old folks came out against them. And again they did it against Elvis, Disco, Rock, Rap and so forth and so on. Every generation seems to think that music that does not sound like theirs is crap. I call BS. Music is music and there is good music all over this planet. Not all mainstream music is bad. It just isn't yesterday. It is today and someday someone living today will be saying the same shit about tomorrows music. Every generation has an opinion. but which generation is right? Probably the last one.
