Semi Finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest
My Composition YOU LOVED MY WAY (Lyrics by Mel Barnett, performed by Rachel Williams) reached the Semi Final of the UK Songwriting Contest in the Folk/Country Genre. I'm a little proud and a little disappointed, that it didn't make it to the final. Well, better luck next time baby...

Congratulations, Diego, I've also entered this contest and I had some semi-final positions and one song made it to finals. I've been entering from 2005 and I too was thinking that it would be nice to get to finals when I was reaching semi-finals and last year one of the song which didn't make it to the finals in the past, with the same recording reached the finals. So this is my second year I have a song ( a different one, I've collaborated with Donna Devine (lyrics) and called "Kindness I Mainly Recall"). Both songs were recorded at home and only had voice and piano although we have another version, a better recording with added cello which Donna submitted in another category and it reached semi-finals. Diego, there is always another day and you will have better chances. Unfortunately the format has changed and in the past all the finalists were listed on the front page (when I didn't reach that level) and since last year one has to search the name in the box. Now only the winners and runners up are listed. Well, on other contests are just winners and it's rare when the contestants know the score, Anyway, better luck next time. All the best wishes,
