Guitarology in L.A. with Pete Anderson on 3/24
WHAT IS GUITAROLOGY? Just about every major hub in the United States has an active guitar jam scene (think Redd Voelkert at the Continental Club on a hot Austin afternoon, with Sonny Landreth sittin in)...except L.A....until now. Guitarology is a revolving evening of live music every Wednesday, beginning in 2010 in Los Angeles, based at Melody Bar & Grill, four blocks north of LAX airport. The concept is uber-cool-a slinky combination of blues-jazz-country-rock-roots music, based around the guitar, with an all-star core band: Stephen Patt (ex-Chambers Brothers) on assorted guitars, Denny Croy (Doug MacLeod) on bass, Jeff Turmes ( Mavis Staples Band) on bass , and Steve Mugalian (ex-Lucinda Williams Band) on percussion. A different guest guitarist is slotted for each night, including session cats (think Rick Holmstrom, Jon Brion, Larry Carlton, Skunk Baxter), touring guitslingers (think Sonny Landreth, Eric Johnson ), and local musicans (think Dave Alvin, Ry Cooder). Evenings start at 8 pm on Wednesday and go till 11 pm, with hot food, cold drinks, and a cool vibe at 9132 S. Sepulveda in Los Angeles.

Hell, I'd go just to see you play, Pete! You've been one of my favorite guitar players for a while now — ever since I first heard Dwight.
But as long as you bring this up, you should bring in Curt Kirkwood, too! (He's another one of my favorites.) I think that he'd be able to hold his own, no?
