Be aware Francesca that singer-songwriter Mark Gormley has had several offers to appear live on major late night TV shows, a feat reserved for only the most talented major artists..

And there are times being presumptuous or overconfident may obscure opportunity when it may be knocking on your door at this very moment. May I suggest you take the time to get to know Phil Thomas Katt if you want to take your musical ambitions to the next level?

Here's a classic video from the Uncharted Zone called "The Enterprise Room." It gets especially interesting at 1:45 to 1:55 where it features Mark Gormley demonstrating the Power Stance while playing guitar on this track. Later Gormley is again featured laying down some classic leads which brings the following question to mind.. Just what might have have happened if Gormley had been invited to play on a few of Scott's tunes, would his band be doing the late night circuit now if that had happened? I guess we may never know..

Without any further adieu.., "The Enterprise Room".

Gray Days - Mark Gormley

If silence is a spoken word
And your eyes could tell a story
This gray day's all in sight
Please tell me a story
The leaves have all gone brown
And I don't know where to turn
This love we had inside
Can see us through the stormy night
It is no use to hide
I'm locked up inside, please move me
Can you show me some brighter days

As the light begins to shine
We can feel the love we had is real
And today is the start
Of something new
As we walk hand-in-hand
The sun is breaking through
And now, it's clear
Yes, it's clear. Ohhhh

Do you know what happened to that finer day
Do you know what happened, Can we find our way
The fleeting thought we had is lost
In a sea of stormy emotions, we are tossed
I can't find shore and what's more, I can't find my way to you
Where are you

As the light begins to shine
We can feel the love we had is real
And today is the start
Of something new
As we walk hand-in-hand
The sun is breaking through
And now, it's clear
Yes, it's clear. Ohhhh

I don't think I can last
Someone save me please. I'm sinking fast
This whole world's closing in
And I don't know where I am
It all looks the same to me
Spinning 'round in clouds of gray
Like puppets out of rhyme
Will we find a happier time

Say, do you hear me
Do you hear me
Do you hear me
Do you hear me
Do you hear me
Do you hear me
Do you hear me
Do you hear me
Do you hear me

So needless to say Scott, Mark Gormley seems to have that "Je ne sais quoi" quality that you are so sorely lacking in, but there is this similarity that can't be ignored, and that's the real likeness in appearance. Now Mark has been quiet the last several years, failing health may be the reason for that so there does seem to be a sizable void at UZ productions at the moment. So it just might be in your interests to study Mr. Gormley more closely. Learn his polite and easygoing nature and try to emulate those qualities.. (You know, like acting normal.) And then let Phil Thomas Katt produce you next 4-5 videos and who knows, he might work the same magic for you that he did for Gormley.

I would not let this opportunity pass me by if I were you..

What a lyrical masterpiece. I only wish I had the requisite talent to rhyme "story" with "story".

Enquiring minds want to know, Greggy, is Mark Gormley your new boyfriend? He looks like your type.

Nah Scott, that's not gonna work. When I say you have to become a normal guy if you want to be the next Mark Gormley, I'm very serious about that. So drop the false bravado and and the political redundancy in your songs and be a regular guy like the rest of normal society, you just might grow to like it. Now I'm not sure about the talent factor, but you've written a sensitive song or two in the past so you just might be up to the task. And just like so many were waiting all those years for the next Beatles to emerge, there are obviously millions hoping for the next Mark Gormley too and I really do think that could be you..

Well Francesca, I don't think Mark will be performing again in the future, but you could always do your own version. And Phil Thomas Katt is just the guy to make it happen.

So don't just talk about it, do it.

Well it's very clear your a natural for the part. You do have that undeniable anti-rock star factor going for you, that intangible quality Mark Gormley also has in abundance. And people seem to really respond well to that these days so why not exploit this opportunity? And think about.. When Jimmy Kimmel invites you to perform live on his show, you can sneak in your band of misfits and blast TVland with that mind numbing slop you been pouring out that last few years and one of 2 things will happen. They'll either call for a commercial 30 seconds into the set and escort you out of the building (That's what I would do) or it'll be like the re-launch of the Beatles.., sort of... Stranger things have happened, right?

Nah, there's a lot more going on than that, and I'm sure that people growing tired of the constant parade of posers probably best explains most to MG's success other than the fact he really is a very talented singer-songwriter. So in saying that, I'm sure he earned everyone of his views. And it's very refreshing to see what Phil Katt has created in Fla, a nice informal setting where everyone is welcome. Beautiful scene, beautiful people, the way it's supposed to be.

Whatever you finally decide Scott is up to you but it really the mark of every good artist is to go outside of their safety zone and explore another side of their creativity. Now this political nonsense you've been churning out just might fly at UZ but I think I would separate myself from that if I were you if you decide to explore this further. You've written some very sensitive and good songs in the past so you definitely have the goods to make this happen. The videos may seem corny but there's a method to that madness and it obviously get's results. Get to know your softer (and better) musical side, slide in a power stance or two in the videos and anything could be possible..
