DARKBLOOM... This Industrial-rock band has broken boundaries by defying conventional means and promoting almost solely on the Internet and to individual worldwide DJs. Their 2007 single, "I Wanna Get It", was in the top 10 on over 5000 Internet radio and DJ playlists, as well as having rotation in thousands of rock/alternative clubs and bars around the world. It has become a standard in American and European strip-clubs as well. Frontman Sean Darkbloom hails the single's success to pure hard work. "We have been blacklisted by most major labels, so we took matters into our own hands. For example, I've personally mailed 7000 singles to clubs and DJs, not to mention what other bandmembers have done." Darkbloom was formed out of the ashes of Sean's former band, 1990s techno-pop group, Sunrise Society. Sunrise Society's hit, "Drop the Breakz" (Juice Records, 2000), is still a stable of the late-night DJ scene. There is no doubt that Darkbloom is "darker" than SRS. Sean's distorted growls and brother Ja Darkbloom's heavy bass grooves meld perfectly with Majik's intense guitar and Jack's pounding drum rythyms. DB features live instruments over ethereal industrial soundscapes. Perhaps Darkbloom's retraction from the mainstream is partially due to rumors of witchcraft and the dark arts. The band's inability to resolve internal conflict, legal problems, and Ja surviving a near death experience add to the mystique. One thing is for certain, however… Darkbloom isn't going anywhere. Rumors have it that one can only leave the band through death, and can never be replaced. Several studio musicians from all genres collaborate with the group, however. In fact, any given song may have up to 20 musicians playing on/and or co-writing. Darkbloom tracks seem to either be written and recorded solely by one or two members, or be projects often spanning several years and passed between numerous DJS and colleagues before finally coming to some sort of completion. Unlike most groups, all members of Darkbloom play multiple instruments, as well as have individual home studios. Darkbloom members can be found jamming with or writing for anyone from Bonecrusher to the P-Funk to Travis Tritt. Although, it is nearly impossible to account for the entire Darkbloom family, the official lineup is listed in the Members Section. Darkbloom have several My-Space sites, ran by themselves or girlfriends, fans, etc. They also have distribution through several on-line record stores. The easiest way to contact the group or purchase music is www.myspacemusic.com/darkbloom (just ask us and we'll send it to ya). Come visit our official website-darkbloomband.com...
