The sorry state of electronic music...
I am sad to say that music isn't exactly as it was a few minutes ago. That's the fickle thing about vibrations in the air. Well, I guess I should start off by talking about how I started getting interested in dance/electronic music. On December 31, 1993 a group of friends who all went to Naperville Central high school decided that we should go to a party instead of just getting drunk on New Years Eve. That party was DecaDance a funny yet appropriate name. I remember pulling up and thinking, "why the hell are we going to a University of Rockford sports center". Once inside the building it started to be come evident as we passed through a hallway filled with garbage bags hanging from the ceiling obstructing my line of site and generally disorienting me in a pitch black entrance way. I can't remember the dj's name, but the music that night opened me up to electronic music. I always loved music but never imagined the palette of tones available thru synthesis.
