First and foremost I admire the sites integrity and ability to reconize GOOD music. I have been a member of IAC for over a year and Slimdog and I have also been blessed with a chance to get Hip Hop song of the year with, "Dear Momz". Now I'm not writing this because I feel like I deserve to be on the top charts but I am writing this because it seems like the Hip Hop charts are not being evaluated thoroughly. The top two songs "Fuck" and "My Bitch" have been number one and two for at least 6 months or more. Not to say I dont enjoy the songs (to an extent) but what about the heart felt music and talent that the other Hip Hop heads have not yet recieved? Has Hip Hop become soo flooded by the market that the real music is loosing its grasp for any type of praise or reconition? Even in the Indie world are we loosing the true essence of what music is all about. Or am I living in this ideal world of how and where music should stand? I dont consider myself to be the best but I do consider myself to be a simple and humble man. Therefore I find it more comforting that I can come to a well respected site such as IAC and be updated (accurately) on what music in the indie world is hot. Lets not forget that we are the future of whats to come...we are the teaches and students of music and YES we will succeed if we commit to our convictions 110% of the time. Thats means on all sides....including IAC.
