Hello To All!
i have been MIA for a few months, and I am pleasantly surprised to see that my name is up for the Kayak Awards. Not for one song, or two songs, but a total of Eight songs in contention for nomination!
Wow!
When I first started posting songs here on IMP back in early 2015, I kept getting several harsh criticisms about my singing. I kept telling people please focus on the song itself, the music, and especially the lyrics. I always said I was a mediocre singer at best, but my main goal was as a Songwriter first and foremost. Yet for the next five years I still receive negativity, with a handful of positives here and there. Probably why I haven't been so active here in past couple of years.
But this year, 2021, I decided to do something different. Something I should've done a long time ago (especially with the success of my song "Keep Fooling Myself" as Sung by Francesca Tamellini).

I began working with other vocalists, from all over the world, on many of my songs, new or remakes,
and Lo and Behold!
People are now noticing my songs as well-crafted pieces with much better singers than I. And now, for the first time, I am in contention this year for a Kayak Award (or 2, or 3, lol) (Too bad there isn't a Stand-Alone category for Songwriter of The Year, lol)
I want to extend my gratitude to those who listened to these songs and decided to place them on the Contender's list you have. Thank you all! I appreciate the recognition!
Unfortunately, I missed the deadline to add more songs for consideration.
I just released 3 more songs on IMP today, and I feel one or two of them would have landed on the Contender's lists as well. Oh well, there's always 2022 :-)
