New song: "Work Of Art" with restored ending
If you liked the previous ending to this song you may want to listen again to this restored ending which was prompted by a suggestion from JeffH. It was as busy as I thought it was so I pruned it a little here and there. I take all suggestions about my work very seriously. If I don't like a suggestion, I stand pat. But if I think a song can be made better, I'm all in.
This song is dedicated to all those who feel undervalued or under appreciated, especially my fellow artists whose work has not been adequately recognized by the music business or other naysayers
WORK OF ART
Peace and love,
Richard

Excuse my French Rich... But Holy crap dude that's an awesome tune!
Only thing I would add is the ending came too soon...I think you could do a little more with it. Even if it's just a few more bars of "there is only one of you" and some git solo countering it...
Well done though!

This is a good tune.
I'm just wondering something.
Do you pay your vocalists?
To be frank, I think you could do this as well. A song author knows his work and his intentions intimately.
Also, I hear it completely differently than it's done. I might wanna do a cover (or I might decide not, given the fickle fucker I am), with your permission of course. I'm hearing it with much more harmonies.

Thank you, Dan. I can't sing anymore because I no longer have the lung power. I had asthma as a kid apparently it doesn't get better with age!
I appreciate the offer but my manager does not want anybody to cover my songs as they are under contract and slated to be re-recorded by a band in LA. I'm just making home demos so the band can learn them. These recordings I make were never meant to be considered "masters". They're just sketches to convey my production ideas for each song and I will be co-producing the final CD with the band. They have an amazing lead singer and the other guys sing harmony too. They will do a great job. My job is done! The contract is pretty restrictive but I stand to do very well if the band does well.
Besides not permitting covers, I can't pitch the songs to any publishing or record companies for two years. If the the band is not successful by then, control of the songs reverts to me But a lot of promotion is going into this band. It's the best chance I have of getting my songs out to the world and making some money while maintaining creative control.
I totally agree with you about the harmonies and I appreciate your suggestions and your support as always.

Yeah man that hits the spot...
Just my thoughts...
I think you're going to make some $$ here!
Kudos to you if your work pays you back in more ways than these words on a screen.
I think there is more that can be done with the vocals just to add a little more power to the end crescendo but in the right hands I'm sure they'll do right by you!
