HOMETOWN BAND
This was the song I was working on for Scott's June 21st song challenge.
I guess I'm a little late but better late than never. Thx for the idea, Scott.
HOMETOWN BAND
This song is dedicated to all the hometown bands at IMP like Negative Tendencies, The Rhythm Kings. The Trip Poppies and all our bands, singers, songwriters and musicians here and around the world. Thank you for representing!
Home is where the heart is and this song pays tribute to all the guys and girls who are still bringin' it all back home with lot's of heart.
Thank you for walking through the fire of opposition and rejection in order to preserve an art form in peril of extinction. Thank you for spending your hard earned cash on the musical instruments and recording equipment needed to communicate a message, a feeling, an idea, a dream and a new reality.
Thank you for supporting your local bands and songwriters as well as keeping Indie Music People a thriving website with a cause.
Your dedication to your craft should not go unrecognized. Artists of the world, UNITE!!!! Support your hometown band and all the artists and technicians who keep the magic alive. And remember, the world is our hometown.
"Hey, Hey, My My, rock and roll can never die"

Hometown Band
Joe bought his first guitar
At the local pawn shop
He longs to be a star
His dad was so very proud
He said "use the garage
So you can play kinda loud"
Here's to the hometown band
Anyone can be a fan
Here's to the hometown band
They'll play your favorite song
And you can sing along
Joe and his girl can really harmonize
Like angels in a choir
That's no surprise
Now they're writin' all kindsa tunes
And the drummer's in the groove
He's got somethin' to prove
Here's to the hometown band
Anyone can be a fan
Here's to the hometown band
They'll play your favorite song
And you can sing along
Here they come
There they go
They're gettin' ready
For the show
The bass is thumping like a heart
You can feel it in your bones
RIght from the start
The lead guitar is shredding things up
It's time to take a sip
From the big red cup
Here's to the hometown band
The greatest band in all the land
Here's to the hometown band
They'll play your favorite song
And you can sing along
Here they come
There they go
They're gettin' ready
For the show
Here's to the hometown band
Anyone can be a fan
Here's to the hometown band
They'll play your favorite song
And you can sing along

Really love this Richard. I'm always in awe of your production and super pro sound and now in this tune you've nailed the Hometown band vibe perfectly. Paradoxical because of course the feeling of being at the band concert right there in the home town is achieved by really clever production haha. And another thing I like is that a Richard Scotti tune never fades out. The ending is as good as the beginning - love that hand clapping break near the end and the ending itself is so full of energy. You can hear it even after it's stopped.
A great tribute to great musicians - nice!

Thank you, Rob and family~
You and yours are the quintessential Hometown Band - a musical and spiritual collective representing the world as our town. Your music and your message is the tonic we all need - love, music, art, empathy, family, friendship and positivity. The Silverwood philosophy has set an example we can all learn from. I know it has changed my life for the better.
Rock on and Kia Ora!
Richard
