African Linx Festival at Cropredy
We had a fabulous day on Saturday at the small one day festival we organised at Cropredy (same village in Oxfordshire as the famous annual Fairport Convention)African Linx One Day Festival. That's my main blog by the way where I write about festivals, gigs and personal stuff when I'm in the mood! I've got my IAC players there too.
We had a great line up of Uk and African acts during the day time and in the evening we de-camped inside and myself and three other acts played sets. I had Paddy my keyboard player from Bristol and an excellent guest bass player (Lee Pellington) to enliven my set, which went down very well and I felt I sang the best I can.
In the end we raised £1000 for the Kartong Festival in The Gambia which is a fantastic result - that is worth about D40,000 in local currency which will go a really long way there!
Last night I did an old fashioned open mic in Bristol at a noisy city centre pub - you know the sort of thing - drunk people chatting louder and louder over the music but enough people listening to make it worthwhile ha ha!
I've re-vamped my artist page a bit as I'm using it more than Myspace now as I prefer it. Gradually working out how to do things.
