This song has excellent potential. May I suggest an idea? Not a single word was changed. It's just an arrangement of the sections. The "Please leave me" part is very strong and emotional. It's the crux of the song and very catchy as well. It really helps breaks up the repetition of the verses when it follows a verse. Two long verses in a row without a break is too much verse in my opinion. I think this will hold the listener's attention better. But it's just one person's opinion. I just want other people's songs to sound as good as they can be. It doesn't mean that I think my idea is the best idea. It's just a suggestion that I think will help. I've gotten a lot of flack from some folks who were shocked at my attempts to make suggestions about their songs so I stopped doing it until this moment! I hope it's OK with you.
Feel free to disagree with me!
I’ve let you go, now set me free
(Only you know who you are)
I wanted you, you wanted me
(Only you know who you are)
You came to me, out of the blue,
(Only you know who you are)
You know that I can’t be with you
(Only you know who you are,
Only you know who you are)
Please, please leave me
Please, please leave me
Please, please leave me
(Only you know who you are,
Only you know who you are)
Why did I let these feelings in
(Only you know who you are)
Into my life, under my skin
(Only you know who you are)
It’s over now, will never start
(Only you know who you are)
You left a scar inside my heart
(Only you know who you are,
Only you know who you are)
Please, please leave me
Please, please leave me
Please, please leave me
(Only you know who you are,
Only you know who you are)
Instrumental break
I’ve let you go, now set me free
(Only you know who you are)
You know that I can’t be with you
(Only you know who you are,
Only you know who you are,
Only you know who you are)……..
Please, please leave me
Please, please leave me
Please, please leave me
(Only you know who you are,
Only you know who you are)

The one thing I've learned is that if you believe in a song no matter how rough it sounds, there are great rewards in staying with that song and working on it until it lives up to what you know it can be. I've taken incomplete songs of mine from 10 or more years ago and worked on them to where they are today and it's so gratifying. It's like having a son or daughter who isn't doing too well in school but after some tutoring, he or she makes the honor roll! As I mentioned, I think your song has much potential. The subject matter is very interesting and the music has merit too. With some tender loving care, this song can be a real winner. Don't give up on it.
