G.A.N.J.A.
Okay, I finally crawled out from under that Rock and Roll groove I have been in lately. Now the pendulum is swinging back over to the R&B/Hip-Hop/Funk flavor. This song is about (you guessed it) Ganja/Reefer/Smoke/Herb/Weed and all that sticky icky stuff. I would not be able to work on music anymore if I didn't have it. the pain from all my ailments would keep caught up in the Vicodin haze my doctors want to keep me in. Instead of taking that crap I vaporize the sacred herb of the Rastafarians. So. I thought I would write a song about it.

Ganja is a good herb that helps a lot of people. I'm glad it's helping you. It needs to be celebrated like this. It leaves you with such a feeling of well-being. And I know it helps me make my music better. Any artist who has not used it is missing out.
I like the sax work, Stoneman. And the rap at the end was cool too. Good lyrics throughout. And a great dance groove.

Great song and production, Stoneman. I agree with everything Tom said and I also love the rhythm electric guitar on the verses. Are those real hand claps? They sure sound like they are. This song could be an anthem for the cause of medicinal use of pot. I'd love to see you get a hit single on the radio. This could be the one, especially in places like California. Earth, Wind, Fire and Stoneman!!!

Great tune - as usual, Stoneman. I don't see why pot isn't legal everywhere in the US. Making it a crime is ridiculous and tied into some ugly politics (gosh and we all know the politicians never commit crimes). I personally don't know what I would do without it. Glad you're healing from the smoke- wouldn't want any future Stoneman music to go unheard.

Yes, I have certainly had some tremendously satisfying creative moments on herb. It does seem to stimulate the creative part of the brain. I had to break doctors orders while playing the Sax part. My doctor claims it could kill me. But I could hear it there and I had to get it in there. Multiple bouts with pneumonia (16) made me put the Sax away when I was 16 years old. But it was my very first instrument and I just love the Sax texture. Can't help but sneak and play every now and then. I say sneak because my wife gets worried when I play my Sax.

Yes, you are so sonically perceptive. Those are real hand claps that I ran through a Guitar amp effect. Pretty wild result huh? I don't know if I can get a hit record out of it but I agree that it has a lot of potential. Thanks Bro! I always appreciate your comments!

I agree 100%. There is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be legal. If you compare it to alcohol, it should never have been considered illegal as it has none of the health or safety hazards associated with alcohol. Thanks so much for always being a great friend in music!

Listening to G.A.N.J.A. while I am writing this. Great groove Stoneman! It is amazing that a song about pain suffering etc. can put such a smile on my face. Really well done. Great song!
