I'm Not Alone
Racism, injustice, anger, frustration, violence, brutality, double standards, bigotry, pain, death, destruction, distrust, disenfranchisement and so many other atrocious parts of the human condition remind me of my past and all that I fought my way out of the slums and escaped from. But one thing I will never be able to escape from is the color of my skin and the fact that my life has no value in the eyes of those who administer the law. I am nothing to them. I am Eric Garner and Trayvon Martin. I know that I can be killed and no one will be held accountable for it because the pigment of my skin devalues my worth as a human being in the eyes of the law. I am expendable and I am not alone.

It's a very good song Stoneman, the chorus rings a bell, like the rhythm change up also, and well produced...

As usual, Stoneman - you have expressed about the most incredible injustice and the emotions that it raises in us through beautiful music. So powerful! I can't even believe the state of not only the US, but the whole world it seems in terms of no justice for anyone except the ones with all the money. Songs like I'm Not Alone are magical weapons to fight back with. Congrats on this one. It speaks for us.

I love the counterpoint of having a beautiful and sweet vocals singing about things which are obviously not beautiful or sweet. That concept reminds me of what Marvin Gaye did with, "What's Goin' On". You're keeping it real as you always do and you're doing it in a very classy way. It's an extremely cathartic song with a powerful and heartfelt message as only you can deliver.

Richard - yes! I was thinking that same thing about a comparison to Marvin Gaye and What's Goin On .....

Wow, for me there is no bigger honor than being compared to or even mentioned in the same breath as Marvin Gaye. He was my hero and one of the songwriters that inspired me to go deep into the music realm and find my own voice. Thank you so much D. And Richard. Your comments mean the world to me.
Much Respect,
Stoneman
