Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right
I recently read some Newsweek research saying that the average IQ of California, my fair state, is only 95.1, where 100 is considered average. This is the third lowest average IQ in the country, just ahead of Mississippi and Louisiana! I look around me at this California culture, so called, and it kind of makes sense. Everyone has shifted their brains to their phones, so no one really has to think anymore. If you think about it, the only reasons we need intelligence at all is to find food, get a mate, and avoid dying. These things are fairly easy in our culture. Any intelligence beyond that is superfluous. So all the idiots in California are perfectly happy being idiots and don't feel the need to improve themselves in any way. So it's getting harder to find good art, music, literature, etc.. It's all dumbed down for the masses. And I don't know how it is in your state, but it seems like no one is growing up anymore. Think about it, we watch movies about superheroes, dolls, vampires, zombies and magic. We read graphic novels and pretend they are not comic books, which they are, We pretend to like Keith Haring and ignore the fact that he basically uses stick figures. Paintings are often insane scribblings and smears reflecting the anxiety of our times. Once upon a time, artists of all kinds were intellectuals, and usually very intelligent. Now, many artists are just crazy people making childish work.
Our national average IQ is about 98. It would be higher, but all the idiots in Washington skew the results. If you want to move to a smart state, Massachusetts is at the top at 104.3.
