Post your most Beatleesque song
If there's enough of them I might start a station.

Gee... you do know I have this band, right?
We're called BEATLESEX. Take your pick.
I'll be posting more before this whole SoundClick thing finally kills me, I'm sure.
Oh and even if I do get the SoundClick thing worked out,
I remember who was there for me in a time when I would have
been done for were it not for them. And by them I mean you.
So, even if SoundClick does put me back on the air, as I hope they do,
because I really cannot get my head around uploading every song
I've ever made since the beginning of my career----although I have
in fact now as of today Deleted EVERY Cover Song I had on SoundClick.
I want to eliminate all further discrepancy.
Uh, what I mean to say is, as of now My Musical Home,
and the place to go, the first place I'll release stuff,
in some cases maybe the only place, is Indie Music People.
I managed to put the record we released today
on SoundCloud, and yeah, I uploaded it as a wav,
which is novel and certainly more hi fi,
but you're right, corporate to the nines...
I couldn't even sign up as BEATLESEX or American Lesley Jane,
I have a number. I'm User something something something (buncha numbers)
but screw it, I'll put out stuff here and there on SoundCloud
as well, just to generate more fans if possible.
Incidentally, I did (and will continue to)
put a notice on the song (Mumblin') I uploaded today to Cloud
that people may visit BEATLESEX,
Here at www.indiemusicpeople.com/beatlesex
Tell ya, I may upload some of those covers, at least the really good ones,
here, because they are now not any place else.
That I might do.

I know what you're getting at Scott, but The Beatles had so many different facets that you could define "Beatlesque" is many different ways.

Memo From BEATLESEX Rhythm guitarist John, to Group Leader, Lesley.
I think he means by Beatleesque that they have to be NEW songs
in the style we're known for, not a cover of crap we did back in the day.
You know that, right? Yeah you know that. Okay I'll shut up then. ~JL

Lesley, just so you know, even if you upload a wav at one of those corporate sites, the file will only stream at 128 kpbs. This is the only site where you can stream at 320 kpbs hi-fi without paying extra to do so.

Comment from John of BEATLESEX, to Hop On Pop.
Well you're right of course.
Right off the bat, there's four of us.
So that's four subdivisions of 'Beatleesque' right there.
Like John. Like Paul. Like George. Like Ringo.
Then there's time periods....
and again, four subdivisions...
e.g
Like John 1964, like Paul 1965, like George 1966, like Ringo 1970... etc...
I guess the rule of thumb is, if it sounds at all like the bloody Beatles,
then it qualifies as a contender for such a list.
And of course, being me, and being in a group where myself
and George still do whatever it is we still can do, being old tired dead
and often unamused, namely the famous BEATLESEX,
well, all that considered, I had the nerve to basically agree with you Pop,
so don't Hop on us, thank you.

Comment from Lesley, Group Leader of BEATLESEX.
Scott. Stop trying to sell me on you, I'm already sold.
I told you, any of that, putting songs elsewhere, is simply to generate
more people knowing about me, American Lesley Jane,
and about my band, BEATLESEX.
I already just told you that Indie Music People is now Home Base to me.
I don't just say that. SoundClick forever alienated me with this crap.
Even if it gets all 'back to normal' with them,
they are now secondary to here. Do you understand?
I won't even upload stuff there first now. I'll upload it here first.
And then I'll upload it there. Unless I fill up the place here with songs,
and there's no room until I take some stuff away to make room again.
And as I said, I didn't particularly care for that I couldn't even
sign my as my known names... I'm a bloody number!
I may not even bother putting another song there,
I'm not even sure how to get to the damned thing.
Anyway, you're preaching to the choir, Mate. Relax, would ya.

From Lesley to Scott, once more.
Do you have, at this site Indie Music People,
a section to showcase videos?
We have some. Both BEATLESEX and American Lesley Jane do.
I know when you upload a song, there's a space that says
you can put a correlating video there, but you can't,
I tried that when I uploaded "Venus Girl"... so it's just the 'share url'
to YouTube under the title, even though I've seen somehow
it seems to work for other people here, because some people
DO have a video showing under a song title.
So I don't know what I did wrong or they did right...
But I was just thinking you know, as a Site Feature,
you could have a place where the artists can upload
or at least hook it up with a 'share url' link,
their videos.
Just a thought.
Maybe we'll look through our lexicon of noise and
see if there aren't some old favorites we might upload here...
I will say ahead of time, the sound quality we're capable of now,
with digital and all, is definitely superior to what we could do
back when we started, and it was on tape...
I can hardly listen to that old stuff now. Even though there are some
very good songs in the old stuff... I'd almost like to re-record some,
only not. Can't stand the thought of it, really. "Oh no NOT AGAIN."

Lesley, a lot of people make the mistake of using the you tube link but all you need to do is put in the embed code in the box on the video slot for your song in the artist area
|
|
|
11/12/2015 4:28:19 PM
Okay, let me see if we're talking about the same thing.
I did that. What you said.
It's what I did in the first place.
In the box, below the title, when you first upload a song,
the one that says 'put you tube embed code here'...?
I did that. I just did it again, though I'd done it the same way the last time.
Again, it does not work for me. You are the Administrator here,
perhaps you could look into my admin area and see if I haven't done
it correctly or something?
meanwhile, regarding the subject of this thread...
If I do upload a bunch of older material,
I may figure out how to use the stations,
so I can present the albums as albums.
If that's alright.
Thank you.

Maybe you don't understand what the embed code is. You go to youtube video, hit Share, then embed and copy that code.
I went to your ALJ page and embedded a Neil Young video on the bottom song and it worked fine. :)

Scott. Good Morning.
Well yes, actually I do understand what the 'embed' code is.
It's how I put a lot of videos on SoundClick or did, when they weren't messing
with me supremely, which I suspect, is actually a political persecution,
which some unscrupulous Republican or Republicans, paid them to do.
That said...
Yes, Scott, trust me, I do know what the embed code is.
The only question, is, am I putting it in the right place?
Because when you upload a song here, below the slot where the title goes,
is a slot where supposedly one would put said 'embed code' from youtube.
And I have. And it has not worked for me, I do not know why.
So how about this approach. I don't particularly need a Neil Young video
on my page, but if you could, go into "Venus Girl"
(I told her to expect you, it's okay, walk right in set right down, Big Guy)
and enter, the embed code which is already IN that second slot,
and maybe when YOU do it, it will listen. And then, Voila,
at long last---- VIDEO!
And Possibly Television, but we won't talk about that now.
Fingers crossed, Mum's the word.
Mum, I said.

So let's get on that, Boys.

Oh.
Okay Scott, I figured it out, no need to do that, 'cause I just did. Successfully.
I'd had it confused, I'd mixed up the 'share' code
with the 'embed' code... the share code was what I put in there...
I realized though, thanks to your putting the Neil Young video in there,
since I saw the coding was notably different. Thank you.
Okay Ladies & Gentlemen, as the Leader of BEATLESEX,
which I am, Hi, I'm Lesley Jane...
I'd like to share now with you,
two new (New here anyway) BEATLESEX songs,
one is from last year, and one is from all the way back to
the beginning of our illustrious recording career in mid 2001!
Yeah!
By the way, I'll post them here, but I don't know
how to make it a link like the Big Kids here, so I'll just have
to put the url to the particular song, and you can cut n paste
if you care to hear it. Okay? Okay.
Okay so this is the older one, from 2001...
"Just In Case You Wanna Know" by BEATLESEX

Okay. And now this...
"50 Is The New Fuck You" by BEATLESEX

Thank you, and Have a Good & Productive Day, Everyone.
God Bless, Much Love, ~Lesley Jane

Hello this is John Lennon speaking with his disembodied voice. Deal with it.
I think one of us, perhaps the group leader, Jesus, also known as Lesley,
made mention of it. Can't remember if I did.
Anyway, yeah, okay time proved me bloody wrong.
We're not 'bigger' than Jesus, we're the back-up band. Should have
seen that coming, but die and learn.
So we put up two new old ones, "Just In Case You Wanna Know"
and "50 Is The New Fuck You".
Much to the chagrin of people wishing they can do what we do.
Don't feel bad, really. We've been at this a while you know.
Love, ~John

Hi FT,
There are tons on IMP. There's a small sample on my Lost Beatles Tracks? station.
More here on the Missing the Beatles? station I found a number on.
Then, there are our Lars Mars tunes:
Everything She Does
Den did the great guitar work on that, Bob did the keyboards, with Ron on drums. Some terrific harmonies, but a terrific Harrisonesque guitar solo by Den.
Then, there's a song by Den that doesn't sound at all like the Beatles, except that it does. The Young Fool
When you hear the harmonies and the chorus, you'll understand.
I should get back to working on my stations, particularly that one. Two copies of Penrose on it, from a glitch when they had to reupload it. For some reason Supraluxe deleted their fantastic song "Love, Sweet Love" (I think it probably won a Golden Kayak long ago).. too bad.
Anyway, thanks for asking... I'll check out the others (though I've heard and included the Steves long ago - and BS too)
Glenn
